A reasonable laser for a Condor or Talon
I’m trying to find a reasonable laser for my Condor or Talon
I’m planning on mounting it under the barrel as I don’t think it’ll fit under my scope.
I’m not looking for an illuminator, but something for just quick aiming when plinking
suggestions?

I have the green dot Barska. One modification I did which addresses two problems.
In my case I was changing barrels often and would have to readjust it each time. After a few times while readjusting the light would fail to come on. I would have to roll the adjustment screws past and back to where they would then be correct, and the light to work each time.
I just about sent it back but decided to figure out why it did this.
The screw is the same type used for for pinning the barrel of the Talon. It’s steel and the inside end is made as a cup so it bites into what it’s screwed into. The area of contact inside the light is brass and is soft. The screw creates a ridge on the brass and this makes the adjustment jump around and makes poor contact electrically.
I took the screws out and ground the cup off and slightly rounded the end of the screw using a fine stone wheel on a Dremel tool. Then I polished them with a compound wheel. I used a very slight amount of Dielectric grease applied to the very end of each screw. The ridges I dwelt with by using the stainless steel stiffener from a wind shield wiper blade. I ground the end so it had a sharp 90 degree end put it inside the screw hole and turned it around with light inward pressure. This got rid of the ridges.
The unit adjusts much better now and the lights seems to function each time now even after readjusting it between barrels..
The LED is is a brass piece that is lightly captured inside the unit. There is a slight friction holding it in place so it doesn’t rattle around. There is a screw that holds a spring that applies pressure towards the two adjustment screws. Sometimes before I would have to help the spring by taking the Allen key and lightly pushing the LED socket (not the lens don’t want to scratch it) over toward the adjustment screws.
The allen screws have a locking type compound on them from the factory.
That has always been my main gripes with lasers. I can’t stand the sloppy windage and elevation adjustments…and many need blue locktite if under heavy recoil…If I were to get one of them I would want one with the knob type (not allen screw) adjustments…I am saving up for a laserlyte Krypto….

I like the low profile!! The first one I got had sloppy adjustments for windage. Replacement one was 6 months newer manufacturing date. It has been rock solid! I had a custom dovetail machined in mount to fit on Prod under scope. When my AAA Condor comes from Tony I will probably use same one.
For what it’s worth, I ended up buying a Barska green dot. it was about $100 via Amazon.
For such a huge beast, it fits in front of my scope, clearly blocking some of it, yet entirely invisible in the optics.
My cats love it too.
NKG makes a pretty decent one. i got one for my condor. whatever you do, get a green laser. red ones don’t show up as well in the daylight.

For a cheap solution buy a BSA rim fire laser and use a daisy red dot sight mount (flipped upside down) to mount a decent laser close to the bore.
