R3 12 FT/lb Tuning
Since receiving my edgun i havent really done much shooting with it due to mainly weather and being out the 12G
upon getting it i adjusted the HST screw pretty much all the way out to give me 11.5 and it would hold there very consistently but would creep up over time, so from advise from ed i got a 2.5mm TP washer and stuck that in, it didnt really allow me to turn the hst screw in much but seemed to hold it at a lower speed and not creep up as far over time
since recently giving it a quick chrono it has creeped up to just over 12 which is what brought me back to here. i had a another read through and decided to turn the reg down a 1/3 of a turn hoping it to be about 100 bar accoriding to yodas clock settings š
btw it is really a piece of cake taking this rifle apart and putting it back again thanks to all the helpful lads on here
i will check back once i have filled the gun and tested it as my mate has my cylinder
one thing i do want to ask is how do i go about changing the hammer spring, do i need weaker one, longer, shorter? and what are the dimensions of the spring so i can get one made in different sizes to test?
also does anyone have the dimensions of the hst screw so i can get one made with a longer thread?

I had the hammer spring cut down by two coils today to give me more threads in the hst screw.
After adjusting it back to the right fps i did a chrono from 200BAR down to 150BAR which in 12ft/lb takes so fucking long anyway here are the results – feedback would be lovely š

I just shot down till it came of the reg and refilled, it was lower this time round at 440 ish so cranked the hst in a little turn that took it to 565 which is good for me. And over about 20 shots it has a spread of about 4fps so will have a check again 2moro.
But i also noticed another problem whilst plinking. My pellets were clipping the baffles, i think the last 2. I did the marker pen trick and i could see it marking it so i drilled out the baffles except the last one or two because my drill bit wouldnt reach to 7mm
So will give it a spin tomoro aswell
The clipping doesnt really bother me as i have had clipping on other silencers such as weihrauch & air arms they are a little easier as they can just be swapped but as this is fixed its a little more awkard but not that bad only took 2mins
Scott, you really need to PM or email Yoda and pick his brain. He is another bullheaded Brit and he didnāt give up until he got his Matador set to his liking!

Anytime that you adjust the regulator, you need to refill and shoot enough shots until the air tubeās pressure drops below the regs new set point! If you donāt do this, the reg will not ālock inā on the pressure that you want.
If you donāt shoot below the set point, subsequent fills can/will give you a shot string/fps variations that will make you go crazy!
Donāt ask me how I know this! š³
I HAVE FILLED THE GUN AND FINE ADJUSTED THE HST TO AROUND 560FPS CURRENTLY GIVING A 5FPS SPREAD OVER ABOUT 20 SHOTS THAT I HAVE ONLY GOT ROUND TO DOING.
ITS SEEMS TO BE SITTING THERE AND IM RUNNING OUT OF PELLETS SO JUST ORDERED SOME MORE BUT NEED TO GO GET ME SUM BUNNIES WITH THE FEW PELLETS I HAVE LEFT š
IS THERE A PROCEDURE TO FOLLOW TO FINE TUNE FPS? I.E. ADJUST HST, REFILL, SHOOT A FEW SHOTS, REFILL OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, IM SURE I REMEMBER READING SOMETHING
I REALLY WANT TO PROPERLY CRACK THIS 12FT/LB STUFF AS I KNOW ALOT OF PEOPLE IN THE UK ARE PUT OF BY IT, BUT PERSONALLY I LIKE FINE TUNING IT AND IT IS THE BEST AIRGUN IVE EVER OWNED

Hi Scott.
It is easy to make a longer, deeper HST adjuster. Right now, I canāt remember the HST adjuster threadās sizes. You can just take the HST screw out, take it to a hardware store, find a nut that screws onto the HST adjuster and buy a longer bolt that has the same thread size.
You will then need to cut the head off of the bolt, measure the stock HSTās front ID and, using the proper sized drill bit, drill into the bolt a little farther than the stock HST was drilled and then, using a smaller drill bit, drill another hole, the rest of the way thru the bolt for the hammer rod to slide thru.
I sent Yoda one of my quickly made HST adjusters and he used it to get his gun tunded to under the UK 12 fpe limits.
OK, while I was typing up this post; I had to search thru my pics and upload this to Photobucket. Sorry about the VERY ROUGH drawings but, I hope that you get the idea of what I am trying to explain!
The pic also shows the specs for the Matador air releasing tool that I have also made. It works really sweet!
I AM NOT a machinist! I just roughed out these parts using my home drill press. If you have a drill and a vice, you can easily make the deeper HST screw.
IIRC, Yoda didnāt have to put a lighter HST spring in after I sent him one of my longer HST screws to try, he used it, adjusted the reg down, used a smaller transfer port O ring/washer to reduce the air flow and was good to go.
