Finally got my parts from Tony! :D
It’s been 3 months since my Edgun went down with a broken hammer spring retaining rod.
7 months waiting for the gun.
Recieved it on 5/16.
Broken on 5/28.
Fixed and adjusted on 8/27.
Here’s the break, the female threads were all stripped out.
The band aid was to wrap teflon tape around the threads and add a little blue loc-tite in and out. Wait till dry and try. It worked but, I didn’t want to adjust it for fear of breaking the fix and I was unsure it would even hold an adjustment. So, limited use was the only way I could shoot it. 🙁
Tony emailed me a few days ago. I heard ,somewhere, he got back from a trip to see Ed. Another email and picture later, and he knew what he had to send me. I thought he was going to just send the one part but, he said he needed to send a whole new assembly. This is what I got,

I noticed some small differences like this longer screw on the trigger adjustment. Also the HST adjustment was loose as well as its locking set screw. This was nice, since I needed to adjust it to my liking anyway. Old on top, new on bottom,

During the switch I dry fired the old assembly and “Boink” the band aid failed. Most likely because the hammer had nothing to strike.
The installation went silky smooth, then it was out for Chrony, Adjust, Chrony, Adjust, Chrony, Adjust, Chrony, Adjust… Smidgin here, tweak there, done.
Tomorrow morning, before the winds pick up, I’ll re-sight the scope for the new FPS and she’ll be ready to rock!
I’ve been waiting to do a side by side accuracy comparison as well as see which gun I shoot better at long distances. So, I’ll be putting my Edgun up against my AAs-510 FAC.
Last week, I was shooting at a (cut open) steel SCBA bottle at 150 yards. I got 8 out of 10 hits with the Edgun and 10 for 10 with the AAs-510. Hopefully, I’ll be 10 for 10 with both now.
It’s nice to see how Ed stands behind his product. I’ve read other stories, lately, of troubled Edguns being given a royal treatment and fixin’. Tony also gave me some tips for the replacement process. Sure it took a while for the parts to get here but, when they did, it was more than I expected!

Ed – Understood. I was unaware, until now, that Edgun’s did not like dry firing. It’s not something that happens often. As of now, it won’t happen again. Thanks for letting me know. You may have written that in the instructions but, mine are the russian version. 🙄
I did write it, there is English version on this site. As for dry shoot, no problem when the gun is assembled.
Zoco – It’s just the image. It was left loose when I got it and needed to be set to proper adjustment.

It is prohibited to dry shoot. If you do it couple of times to a new part will have the same result.

Longer hst adjuster (???) or is just the image, – a better locking screw for same, – longer trigger adjustment screw (front one), – trigger blade now anodized black (mine are brown)…..
Little things mean a lot…… 😉

But I notice still no locking nut holding the spring on the rod in place. You may want to secure that nut in position…….
