Joining Pellets
Hi Guys,
Here in South Africa the heaviest 5mm pellets I can lay my hands on are 23gr Eunjins. Now I was wondering, has anyone tried joining pellets to increase weight? Joining 2 pellets will give me 46gr which isn’t a problem for a Condor but will the twist rate impart sufficient spin on the joined pellets to ensure decent accuracy? The barrel is a std 5mm LW. Are there other factors to consider?

Thanx for the info guys, I’m already planning the mould and swaging die. Does the length of a pellet matter? Another thing that’s got me thinking is that it might be better to go the .22 route as the larger diameter of the barrel will allow a bigger blast of air.
I’m still after a 100fpe rifles as when I started off on TAG. 46gr @ 1000fps will give me what I’m looking for. Am I being too ambitious or is there hope?

you will also require some form of swaging die to be made up as molded projectiles are quite inconsistant
Just measure the diameter of internals of barrel remember u will have two due to rifling but will only be fractions of mm difference then u can make a cast mould for it, have a look at Mr hollow point website ill find it in Google me thinks and ask him:)
Thanx guys, it seems casting is the way to go. To import a mould would cost a fortune. I have a friend who’s an engineer, I’ll get him to make me one.
How would I go about getting the right size, push a pellet down the barrel until just before it reaches the choke and the push it out the way it came in and then measure?
Cast them play with it get ur weight the way u want
I don’t really see how you are going to join them. I had the same problem many years ago and tried all sorts. Everything from back filling light pellets to rezining larger pellets. End result was I concluded your best to swag or cast your own. I had better results with swagging. Though I know many people cast there own with great results. Have a look at a few of these llinks

the larger the slug the easier it will be to cast
I would go to a .25 myself
another way about this is to cast a round ball that is swaged within a die to your projectile shape
or use appropriate sized shotgun buckshot
