Poll: new condor body ideas please
I’ve been kicking this idea around for a long time, and some of you will remember my rants from Afghan. however, I’ve really been thinking about it lately. It’s a new condor body. I have no idea how much it’s going to cost me, let alone how much it’s going to cost in production (if it ever made it that far), but here’s my thoughts, let me know what you think, or should be added. I havent played around enough w/CAD, and work’s been busy, so no drawings yet.
– 7071 aluminum
– M1913 (picatinny) monorail on top, lowered. all the way to the end of the
frame
– can use all factory sized (custom too) internals
– stock trigger group area (to fit factory, custom parts, as well as a W.O.K.
guard)
– M1913 rail on bottom
– right side feed only
– side cocker (right side)
I wanted to design this new body to be close to the factory, but with tighter tolerances, and to be more rigid. I also wanted more people to be able to just buy it, and slap in their parts and go. no worries about fitment. well, no major worries about fitment. no guarantee on the barrel bushings. I understand those are made on a case-by-case basis most of the time. so, what are your thoughts?? please be gentle. Oh- and I will of course be looking at CNC to do the grunt work. and with little change this could also be a left feed left side bolt rifle as well.

Actually, the 11mm rail keeps AFs machining costs way down. If that was a 1911 rail on both sides, the frame cost would effectively double.
THEN the ATF would notice for sure. haha
