Q:

Graphing Software for a Competition Electronics ProChrony

Hi guys. I have been trying to find cheap/free software that will let me print out graphs from my ProChrno. I don’t like the software that comes with it.

I have seen graphs posted here, WHERE did you guys get the software?

It’s not because of your Windows version beeing “legal” or not….. 😉

And XP should work just fine. I used XP on my old DELL desktop (2003 model) until last year when I bought a new desktop……

It has to with how you treat the imported *.CSV file within Excel.

If you Google: “excel comma separated values file” and start scrolling down you’ll find plenty of information on how to treat your *.CSV file within Excel. Spend some time on it, and you most likely will need no more beers before falling asleep…….. 😉

But you may find a solution before that happens……

Or you may email me one of your files (see profile for address), – and I’ll see if I can crack it for you……..

I’ll make no promises though, – but I’ll try my best………

Bill Gates will never come on top of my will………. 😀

Trygve, the exported files show up as Microsoft Excel Comma Separated Values File.

When I click on the exported files, I get a pop up stating that my Microsoft software is not genuine. I have a 1 ½ year old desk top and I have found out that a 1 year Windows license came with it. Microsoft will make it all better as soon as I send them $99 to make my Windows genuine! The $99 is not the point, the point is that I shouldn’t have to pay twice for the same thing!

That could be causing my problems. I can open the excel file, I have found the graphing part and I can’t get it to do what I want it to do.

I guess that I need to get on The Pirate Bay, download a cracked version of XP Pro with service pack 3 and do an install on my desktop.

I know that XP is way old school. I currently have lap tops with Vista and Windows 7 on them. I have tried to give them the “classic” look with limited success. For me, XP is way easier to deal with but, I didn’t have a problem with Windows 98 either.

For this oldgoat, programming is what the major networks broadcast on TV, files are what I use in my shop, exporting is what the US use to do all of the time and still does occasionally and “software” is what my GF initially wears to bed.

I use Excel myself….

If your software/device is capable of exporting your shotstrings as Excel files, -you don’t need anything else. The graph function in Excel is flexible and allows for axis adjustments, formating etc. etc…..

What is the extension name of the files produced by your software ?

Cheers
Trygve 😀
