Q:

Wolverine

Info on Wolverine (Yellow) shows gun designed for .22(60ft lbs) and
.25(80ft lbs) I think along with Tedd(OG) that this platform will make a
great .25cal long range hunter.I don`t think I`d dare turn it into a
bullpup, its such a nice looking rifle as is.
regards,mark

Naser and RC, if I buy a Wolverine, I will put either a 24” Long .257 cal Hart or a 24” long TJ’S Enterprises .257 cal barrel on it. I have both of these non choked center fire barrels on hand.

I wouldn’t even bother to try the Daystate 36 grain pellets in the gun. I have never read anything good about them accuracy wise.

If I do buy a Wolverine, I hope to be able to shoot 50-60 grain cast bullets in it with speeds of at least 850 fps and I would like to get 8-10 usable shots per fill.

I have always wondered how the very powerful DS’s shot, now I know.

I it still looking like the Wood stocked Haleys and XPAirgun typpe rifles to get decent long range accuracy.

Thanks guys.

Hey OG,

When they say 80ft/lb in .25 they usually mean using their rangemaster 36 grain pellets & unchocked barrel, i have tried these but they dont shoot too well with chocked barrels, but i am assuming thats what they mean.

In .22 they also mean unckoked & Rangemaster in 37.5 grains. I still doubt these would be more accurate but we will have to wait & see.

My thoughts on the 303 Wolverine. It can shoot a 50 grain 303 pellet at over 1000 fps so, I am wondering if it would be able to shoot a 50-60 grain .257 cast bullet at 850-900 fps.

I have already found out that you can single load the 303 Wolverine. I am thinking about a 303 with a .257 barrel and a modified probe. Right now, I don’t know where the Wolverine seals the breech end of the gun. Does the probe have 1-2 O rings (like the Edgun), does the breech have an O ring or does the barrel have the O ring?

I am thinking that it would be easier to modify a 25 Wolverine but, Daystate says that the 25 is at 80 fpe. It can’t be accurate shooting pellets at the needed speeds to get 80 fpe and it has been turned down a lot for the 25 cal. 80 fpe for the 25 VS 100 fpe for the 303.

IF the 303 Wolverine uses a barrel O ring, it would be relatively simple to convert it to a .257. It can’t be that simple, shit doesn’t happen that way for me!

$2700 is a lot of money to pay for an air gun! I might have to sell one of my Edguns to pay for it.

If/when I get one; I will make a bull pup out of it. If it can’t be done, I don’t want the damn thing! I have watched all of the available videos on the Wolverine. That thing is LOUD! I would have to make/buy a new shroud because of the forward scope mounts. I would copy Ed’s ideas on the baffles and quiet the gun down.

If the Wolverine project doesn’t work out, I guess that I will just have to wait for Ed’s 9mm and put a .257 barrel on it.

quote zocoloco:

I’m looking forward to see the accuracy at 60 ft/lbs in cal.22……. 😉

DS never supplied an acceptable accuracy before at these powerlevels in any of their other rifles (I have a few)……

Cheers

i think the calibre is the limiting factor at 60 ft/lbs personally i think over 950 – 1050 fps is pushing the pellet in .22
