Q:

Taking Buttplate OFF

I find the buttpad on the stock annoying and would like to take it off. Is it okay if I leave it off?

Undo the single set screw holding the butt plate on the back of the tank. Then if you have an air compressore blow the tank cover off. If you dont want to keep the cover and dont have a compressor you can cut it off (being careful not to scratch the tank).

I tried to pull my tank cover off once… took a long time and only moved about 1″.

Soap and water might work too… works for the handlebar grips on my bikes…

Can someone here give some directions for getting the buttplate and rubber bottle cover off? tia

Yeah, remove it, No problems with that.

You’ll just gave to try and remember where it is incase you want to put it back on in a few years.

It’s annoying because I shoot this particular gun with the stock rested on top/nearly on top of my shoulder instead of pressed into my shoulder. When it’s on top of my shoulder, that heavy plate digs into my muscle.
It looks cooler too… 😀

It’s a problem for me in getting a good scope picture.

I turned my Talon buttplate sideways so I can get the rifle closer to my big ol’ head.

I tried to shoot my Condor with the buttplate off but it was difficult to shoulder it comfortably. So, I put it back on and now, I think it’s not a problem at all for me anymore.
