.22 vs .25 18” barrel
I’ve got all the valve parts, frame etc., necessary to build another gun (like I need another ). I have everything except a barrel. I’ve got a .22 and a .25 wearing a 24” barrel and a .22 SS and love ‘em.
I’ve never toyed with an 18” barrel. I THINK I’d like to use an 18” barrel in this rifle if nothing else, just to keep the OAL down.
So those of you with eighteen inches of experience 😯 which way would you go?
The .25 barrel questions—
Talon valve 18” .25 barrel
Will the Talon valve allow enough air to push 28g pellets 850+ fps and still allow for more FPS if I wanted to up the pellet weight?
Condor valve 18” .25 barrel
Is the Condor valve a waste of air on the end of a .25 18” barrel?
The .22 barrel questions —
Talon valve 18” .22 barrel
Will the Talon valve push 21g pellets at 850+ fps without maxing out the tophat and hammer spring preload adjuster (i.e. power wheel)?
Condor valve 18” .22 barrel
Will the Condor valve overpower the .22 18” barrel?
Thanks for your input…
I would just hate to spend $175 and say, “Damnit!!:x I should have got the other one!!

With Dyotats valve in my Talon SSS and a 17 inch dechoked 25 barrel, I push 74 grains to 125 FPE and 56 grains to 100 FPE.
I get around 10 shots at what I consider a close string, but as far as field accuracy, I can hit a 8 inch disc at 100 yards 20 times with this combo on one fill.
I would put my money on the 25.
