Regulator info needed
Does anyone here have any experience with regulators ? I have a stock Talon SS , (Tony tells me my shroud will arrive this week). I have read that a regulator can give consistent shot strings. I have no problem with the number of shots I am getting. I ‘m still learning my gun. but it seams like an easy mod that may help consistency shot to shot. Right now I’m running on power setting #6, I want to use the heavier pellets. I don’t do a massive amount of shooting, (I do enjoy it a lot though!) so pellet cost is not a problem. I also don’t want to lose any FPE. I can shoot 10 yards in the house and 15 in the back yard. Got a lot of adjusting and tinkering to do.

I have recently acquired a SS and also am considering a reg. Whether or not you want a reg. will depend on your shooting. If you will not be changing your power settings, you might consider one. But more importantly, you will find that your air rifle will be most accurate with a particular pellet at a particular velocity and that will be achieved at a certain pressure, very likely at less than 3000PSI. You can get regs set at or near this optimum pressure. This allows you to fill to 3000PSI and have a much longer shot string at your optimum pressure.
Get a spare valve/bottle for when you want to change up pellets, barrels, quarry, etc.

Dyotat100 is your man on regulators. I’ve got one he made for my .25 Condor.
However, on an SS I really don’t think you need one. This is a recent chrony print out on an SS I have shooting 18.1g
Note the number of shots. 51 😯 And an SD of 8 😯 😯 Actually this is about normal for a .22 SS.
A regulator will probably double that but if you don’t shoot much, is 50 enough? 😉
