FFP "Mil-Mil" BSA scope on sale…
Since we were talking about scopes in another topic, I was wondering what you guys think of this one (see link below).
It is a FFP “Mil-Mil” by BSA sold exclusively through Midway USA and it is on sale. I know BSA is not the best in optics, but for 250.00 and a FFP “Mil-Mil”….

I could not be more satisfied with it, and may buy another. There’s even a video on you tube of an Army shooter making a 1000 yard shot on a water bottle with it. Heck, I only wanted a better scope for my Harrier. I got more than I thought. It’s got clear glass at 14x, a fine (thin) Mil-mil reticle, and smooth side focus knob. No need for a wheel. There are other qualities I like about it: the eye focus bell; unlike lesser scopes I own, the POI/POA won’t change when I change focus. I’ve taped the bells of lesser scopes because they wobble in their fit. Minimum focus is less than 27 feet measured. Price: I paid $230.00 shipped with MidwayUSA’s discount code (Google it).
Yes, it looks like a Vortex or a Falcon. However MidwayUSA got BSA to make this scope with such quality, I don’t care. It’s on my air rifle, and I love it. As I said, I may buy another for the FFP reticle alone. No, I like the MRAD aspect too. I’ve taken a clear step up from my Leapers scopes and not for a lot more money. I doubt anyone buying one for an air rifle would be disappointed. I even read about it over on Sniper’s Hide.com. Admittedly it was not considered a stellar buy there; those guys spend thousands on scopes over there. But it got some respect. If anyone wants an introduction to a first-focal-plane, side focus scope, you can’t go wrong with the BSA Tactical 4-14×44 scope at what I paid for it. Falcons and Vortexes cost more, and may be better, I can’t say for sure because I never saw either one to compare. Also, I could not see spending more on a scope than I paid for the rifle it sits on.
Read the reviews about this BSA scope on MidwayUSA. I added a 28th review just days ago. Yes, the clicks are soft, but audible enough for my shooting needs. It’s not springer rated, so don’t be dumb that way. PCP for sure. BSA did a good job one this one.

Their price hadn’t changed much in 5 years, just supply has always sucked. The company will help in any questions you have and respond very quickly.
The review didn’t mention hard to turn knobs but I do have a first run FFP. they are right it is built like a tank as I have previously mentioned. I actually carry my gun by the scope to prove people don’t have to baby quality optics. I am intrigued about these “new”knobs… The review in night shooting is right about a hard to see reticle but it is inherent of FFP, at low mag the dots or lines are tiny. But they are clear.
If this review is true (not contrived) and I would think it is…this scope seems to be a great value for the money and in time, as it makes it’s way to our shores here in the states, I see the price point going up.
I missed my 56 and wished they offered it in FFP for night shooting. I haven’t any experience with their 25+ mag scopes. Id be tempted to try their target scope but the FFP has kept me happy. I wish the giant AO wheel on the merlin carried over.

wow, those are some impressive scopes. I would like to here from other’s that have experience with them. Great price and according to the chap’s accross the pond you can return it directly to them for replacement should issues arise (I wonder if SWFA has that same policy?)
I like the Enhanced mil dot reticle but I also like that B20 as it is .01MRAD thicker than the 16 reticle and it also has the numbers which I like!
I also noticed an MOA to MOA option as well. Many choices! I noticed that the 16x scope has 7mrad more of elevation over the higher mag scopes they offer.
Do you have any experience with the larger (heavier) glass. I wonder how they are at 25x?
Airguns of Arizona has the Field target model available. I wonder if they also carry other models?

Falcon might be really hard to find in the States. It’s mainly a Europe thing. But try to find someone with one and try it out. The older Menace line had great quality IMO but the knobs were freaking tight!
FFP no matter who you get it from is awesome. This looks like a reasonable price to experience it too. Just be sure to get a reticle you’re comfortable with.

I have never had a “mil-mil” scope so I would like to give one a try. I am used to mil dot’s but I’m not quite an “old dog” yet.
Looks like a cheap option to FalconOptics. Although for not much more you get the best customer support, up there with the best. I had a lens fail and they set me straight a few years later on their new model line because they had no spare parts for my old custom one off scope. I love Falcon stuff, partially bias, but I can treat their scopes like your supposed to, as a tool, and never lose zero. I never baby my stuff, and Falcon has my vote.
