Bored out of my gord!

Got a little bored today, well this evening, and the wind finally laid down for a while. Nearly dark really.
Decided to go out and shoot the .25 AG a little.
Yarra, FlintSack, Tofaz, UnrepentedSinner, Let me know what you think Guys’s!
3 shoots each, at 85 yards. First three, were from a cold bbl. No throw away shot. (Which I usually do, as it a lot of times will shoot low on the first shot. The new spring from Dyotat seems to have cured that to a large degree.
This is a 21″ bbl, fluted, lapped and crowded here in the shop. A little over 900 fps, with the JSB Kings. 25.4 grains. On a 2500 psi. fill.
Gun, AF Talon SS, with a Long MadDog Stock.
Shot off of Bi-Pod front, and small bag rear, on an old rickety pic-nick table.
Zeiss Scope, 4.5x14x50mm, mil-dot. Side parallax adjustment.
This Gun is starting to come around!
Why only three? Uhh ,I was shooting for fun? Too Cheap to shoot 5? Afraid of Butterflies? All of the Above!

KNife , i found that with a little more valve strike it takes away the low fps shot variation,with higher fill pressures
on 0 to 1 Pw settings, i had this, with 2 3/4 to 3 and above it did not happen. this is while shooting moderate velocities in the 800’s with 14 grain pellets
but with 2000 fill and PW 0 , and the top hat at .055 with the .071 thick o ring , i have shot in the 500 fps range with out having the low fps shots.
the strings were form 500 fps, up to 600 fps, and back down to 500 fps, 1300 fps left in bottle for 176 shots with 14 grain pellets. 🙂
As far as going to the AOA Shoot,I wold have loved to go. What an honor it would be to get to meet people like Fredric, Tony Beals. Ted in Madison.
But to shoot a Match?? OH Hell No! Lol!!!
We may have a big tank like the FS and Daystate, but no where near enough shots at a consistent pressure to be competitive..
Would be a blast to watch though. Not to mention time spent in the AOA Store. And there in lies the rub. MONEY!
No way I’m going to AOA With empty Pockets! 😆

I’ve got her dialed it at 880-915 fps with the Kings.
She gets apx. 30 shots at the 85 before a real shift down.
The really good part is that I can then dial the pw up from “0” to “1”, and she climbs right back up to original poi. for 5-6 more.
Whats not to like? 😉
Would love to try a Reg in it! As it still get s a low velocity shot every now and then. It would drop as much as 2″ on one shot, then go back to where it was on the next. The heavier spring that Doug sent me seems to have cured that for the most part. 🙂

Outstanding shooting 😎 You need to consider going to AOA extreme benchrest match next November. Would be fun for an AF rifle showing up some high $ Euroguns…… 😀 They shoot out to 75 yards and with what I just saw here at 85 yards you’d be in the game… 😯 😀 What kind of shot string can you get with that rifle? Again good shooting….nice… 😈

Oh, my God, I have never tried the jsb kings I sure want to, you have a winner there, that’s like head shots on squirrells at 85 yards. I’m going to name you shootin king or one hole jack, and merry Chistmas to you all too!!

Hey Mike shoot’en is shoot’en and you can sure do that. I’ve been shooting rifle matches most all my life (won a few) and I still get nervous before the match starts. After the first shot the nerves are gone an it’s down to business. You can do this and will not believe how much fun you’d have 🙂 .
I’ve looked at their format and you’d have plenty of time to top off your tank during the match if that’s a concern. Just have to have your act together. The silhouette match no time to top off your tank there since it’s a fastest time most knocked down deal.
Everybody on that shooting line puts their pants on just like you do. You can do this… :4: I’ve got it marked on my calander for next year (hell it’s already next year) and plan on winning it!!!!! 😯 May NOT but I’ll be going out there to have fun and like you said meet people. I know us Okies can shoot with the best of them and a few of you Texicans can shoot too 😯 😯 😯 :thumb:
