Q:

chrony rig

Nothin special. Just though I’d share the pic of my rig. Hoot had built a portable one earlier this year. This one is sorta portable. Won’t fit in the back of my Mazda RX8 though. 😆

I thought maybe some of the guys that are new to shooting might benefit seeing the basic layout of a chrony test stand. All of us that take air guns as a hobby or a life style 😯 know the benifits of a chrony.

BTW the gun is the one that Doug did the bottle, valve, reg, hammer, etc., for. Shoots like a dream. Can’t say enough good stuff about him and his work. Thanks again (and again) Doug.

nice setup. thanks for sharing. you will have accurate testing string. I may copy some of your ideas.

Yea rubber mulch. Stole 😯 that idea from “professor” dyotat100. He posted his pellet trap incorporating the mulch and I sorta copied it. 😀

To insure that I didn’t shoot through the back, I put a piece of 1/2″ polycarbonate (lexan) I had cut to fit the bottom then filled it up. I checked the lexan after about 100 shots with my .25 (45fpe) and none of the pellets had reached it.

I’ve got a second bucket I use when I shoot in the back yard. I’m too lazy to take the one I use for the chrony, besides it gets heavy after awhile. 😆

The bucket and mulch sure beat the duct seal. Cheaper and not near as heavy.

Hey Dave cool set up… 😯 😎 Guess I know what I’ll build next…. 😆 This will force me to get my new chrony out of the box 😳 😳 Nice work…

Rubber mulch. Works great for stopping pellets and slugs.

Hey AoT, what’s in the buckets? ❓

Yes you had. That’s a very well used little space, it gave me a good picture for my project. Thank you for sharing!

That certainly puts your pellets in the same place every time. Very good!

Thanks Doug. I’m going to get a spin loc in the next couple of weeks.

I’ve been told I’m about a half a turn off 😯 so maybe that’s why the gun feels natural. 😆

Thanks. Nice setup. I didn’t look at who posted and I’m looking at the pick going hey someone is coping what I do. You need to get the spin lock so you can clock the bottle right. It’s a half turn off. It will feel way beter to shoot.
