Q:

Scope advice

I am looking to buy a good scope in the $200 price range with a 16X + magnification. I want it to be as clear as possible.
Which ones would you recommend??

I dont need a illuminated reticle or variable magnification if that helps.

Your reaching pretty far for only 200.00 but for another 100.00 I would recommend this one. You can get it mil mil, or mil moa, either one is 299.00. I have the 10x fixed mil mil and I love it. What I like best about it and what I am starting to like best in any optic (as I get older and more grumpy and arthritic) is it is very light. Great scope for the money!

Agree with this Sir, using SWFA SS 12×42 Mil-Quad, great scope for its price, if u need more magnification you can pick either 16x or 20x.
Regards.

Don’t cut corners on optics. I run a $200 burris timberline with great results. Better still is $300 by Nikon, Burris, Vortex, Weaver. Do not buy a cheap bushnell from academy.

You can buy the Leapers 4-16×56 AO for that price. Tough to beat it for bang for the buck. Very clear and bright with an etched glass reticle. The only negatives I have on it are it is finicky about eye relief and its heavy. If you are shooting mostly from a bench neither would be much of an issue.

There was a Hawke SW30 4-16 on the yellow classified page earlier today for $175. Not sure if its still available.

I personally have had great results with BSA scopes. If you go to Sportsmans Guide, you can find a nice 6-24×40 for under $100.

Well i mostly use it for plinking at 70 yards thats why i wish for higher magnification. Im starting to understand for high magnification at a lower price the image isnt as bright and clear. Also i mostly use it on a bench so weight isnt really an big issue
I found this one Nikko Stirling Nighteater 4-16×50.
What do you people think about this one?
Will it be blurry (im not wishing for super clearity!)?

80 grit hit that one out of the ball park.

For 200 bucks the higher mag scopes are dark and blurry.
