Airguns vs Powder Burners….
Did some shooting this afternoon with my daughter who’s 10 and a VERY good shot for her age. The Condor is torn apart while I install a Supersear and lube and clean everything. Since it wasn’t available we took out the Ruger 10/22 and an old Winchester 69A bolt gun. The 10/22 has a Bug Buster scope, the Winchester has iron sights. We were shooting at my selection of miniature steels knockdowns from http://www.thetargetguy.com.
After a few rounds out of both rifles my daughter told me she was done. She usually really likes shooting so I asked her what was wrong. She told me the .22s were boring, and that she’d rather shoot the Condor. I thought about it and had to agree. I’d much rather shoot my airguns than my powder burners. The airguns are quiet, precise, don’t need cleaning after every session, and the Condor knocks the steel down just as hard as the .22s.
I was about to spend a bunch of money on the 10/22 (Hogue stock, GM barrel, bipod, etc..), on second thought I think I’ll just keep saving for the FX Verminator, or spring for one of the new Benjamin synthetic stock Marauders from the SHOT show. I love airguns….. 😀
