Q:

Need to Lower the Power on my TSS

I am going to go do some night hunting in my biddies barn to clear out some Starlings this weekend. Any Idea on how I can lower the Power on my TSS? I know I can crank down the powerwheel, but I don’t see how I can get a gun that shoots 940fps to shoot 450fps. With the heavy hammer, the most the powerwheel is going to do is drop it 75-100fps at best. The Powerwheel setup is a F’in joke anyways, I have them cranked up on both of my guns.

I wonder if I adjust the tophat and put an O-ring behind it will make a big change.

shooting from 2500psi to 2000psi

with the oring i described above i was able to bring my gun down to 450 fps with my pw on 0 and shooting 14.3g CPHP hope this info helped i just put it over the chrony

Small flat o-ring cuts down on wasted air and drops power. Use PW 0 and drop the tank pressure to 1200-1400 psi and chronograph it.

Consider wad cutters made of pure lead to reduce over penetration.

the OD is 0.445 ID is 0.252 thickness is 0.121 hope that helps also try one with a thickness like 0.140 or something im sure you will get the low numbers you want

That will be fine, Thanks Dude. Then I can run some across my chrono and see how it goes.

I can get my .22 condor ss in the 650s with a o ring I will check it and post in the morning around 9 if that works for you

How low do you think I can get it to shoot? Any idea, what diameter O-Ring I should use.

Pandamic is correct. Put an O ring under the top hat. That way you don’t lose your tophat and powerwheel settings for shooting otherwise and it will greatly increase your shot count per fill.

Don’t forget to re-zero your scope for the distance you’re going to shoot and don’t forget your camera !!

Happy starling plinking!

Use a regulator or the micro meter tank or CO2.

Don’t adjust the Tophat just a thick o ring should do the trick
