Question
I am shooting a talon ss with a co2 adapter and a regulated (1800lb) 4500lb paintball tank. I know the co2 adapter has a highflow valve in it. The question is if I raise the pressure on the regulator is it the same as shooting the high flow valve on the airforce tank.

30ftlb plinker. My range is only 35yds. I shoot mostly sparrows, starlings,& more than a few crows have met the power of the talon ss. I can only shoot when they get between me and the backstop. gene

A while ago, I took my hiflow..put in the heavy hammer and stuck in the 12″ .22 barrel, then went for max power. As I recall I was hard to get it shooting much over 950fps…with all the high power setup.
Its hard to go over 950fps with a 12″
Most here feel 890-930fps is where these guns are most accurate.
If you want more power, set the reg to 2400-2600, power wheel on the upper end, you should be able to get in the lower 900’s, with what you have now.
If you want even more…watch the for sale section, pick up a used .22 18″ or 22″ barrel. Every inch of barrel automagically gets you another 10-15fps. The easiest way to get more power is a longer barrel.
So if you are shooting at 900fps on a 12″, and you goto a 22″ you pick up another 100-150fps., so you would be well in the 1000fps range.
A .25 cal barrel is a definate good option!
Just depends on what you are trying to do, making a 60fp killer or a 30fp basement plinker.

Well kind of the same as a regular high flow..
For all practical intents and purposes the Co2 High flow is almost the same as a standard high flow, I have read some minor diff with the valve return spring. You will not gain much power by spending money on a real hi-flow..not worth the money.
Its not the valve you ned to worry about its the regulator on the paintball tank. If you want more power, You need more than 1800psi. Since you have a 4500psi tank. set that sucker to 3000psi(like AF tank). You will have all the power you can use. 2400psi or so is a good compromise.
Most paintball tanks can be shimmed to up the reg pressure to any value you want. Most paintball shops could do it only a few bucks, $20 bucks a good guess. Or get a shim kit and DIY..10$
I think going to 3000psi is to much for a talonss. If your power hungry, you could do it, but then you would need a heavy hammer to open the valve. 2400-2500 psi..is a good choice
How long is your barrel?
It is regulated at 1800lbs & if it is adjustable I don’t know how.
I got the regulator on ebay. I’m not sure what kind of reg it is but it is for paintball because it has to have the co2 adapter but it works very good hits hard & very consistant. It is hooked to a 68ci tank. I get 150 to 200 shots before it hits the reg.
I have a question for you. What kind of regulator do you have that you are able to adjust the output on it?

im gonna say you have a 12inch barrel.best way to get more power just get a longer barrel
