Surefire Slugs General announcement
General announcement:
Surefire casting will not be accepting large orders from international customers or obvious retailers.
In the last 6 months or so, I think we’ve pissed off our favorite customers while annoying retailers that think we’re a Crosman scale manufacturer despite anything we tell them!
The fact is, we’re making heavy slugs for guys with MODIFIED Condors or Talondors that need a slug that handles high power with good accuracy and high energy retention.
I’ve never tried to BS anyone here about the slugs. I was delighted by reports from some members here that they got better accuracy than with Kodiaks but I’ve never tried to suggest that was guaranteed performance. The fact is, you need a gun with the ass to deliver these slugs to get the best performance. I’ve talked as many people out of buying the slugs as I’ve convinced to trying them. I’m just not interested in selling $15 worth of slugs to a guy with a 12” barrel that won’t ever see good results…no matter how fast he can push a JSB. I know better and to deny that would be akin to fraud. Not my thing. Honest advice is much more rewarding.
So…. Here recently, we’ve had some big orders come in and we were initially pretty happy about that. The problem is that those orders pushed our regular customers back. We can only make these things so fast…
Then, I discovered that the big orders were coming from foreign retailers that were marking up the slugs as much as 100% and not describing what the requirements for best performance are. The slugs are being marketed alongside Eun Jins and other commercial pellets as just another choice. Of course, I was told the orders were for “friends” and I was asked to say they were “gifts” on customs forms. Refusing the fraud on the customs forms, I later got asked to ship to straw buyers…
Recently, I saw a great website selling ammo, including the slugs, at a huge markup but without any advice on gun requirements. Funny, but the slugs being sold had not even been bought from us yet! The picture on the site was stolen from the TAG (the only place I posted it (no, not copyrighted)). I guess customers wanting to pay 17euro for 70 slugs will wait as long as it takes for their merchant to actually buy the stock they promised…
Oh, that merchant finally got back to me on a long ago request for cost data to try and finalize a custom order for “friends.”
The estimate/offer for that order is rescinded as is any implied offer to the competitors in that or other markets. Surefire casting is a tiny little hobby “business” that values shooters like “chancers” above large retail orders that will disappoint half the customers. We want every single shot of our slugs to be taken by someone who has a good idea of what to expect because he/she got honest advice from us. I’m not interested in hearing from a second hand customer that the slugs are crap because they didn’t shoot great out of an underpowered gun the retailer never mentioned was inadequate to the task.
Bottom line: Shooter’s orders and questions get filled / answered and retailers get ignored.
We have nothing against retailers (except dishonest ones) but we don’t have the capacity to be a large scale wholesaler of ammo. Thus, we will continue to be a supplier to shooters that need ammo for their modified, high performance guns and we will do our best to serve them with quality ammo and sound advice.
Surefire Casting is sorry for anyone whose order was delayed because it was promised through a retailer or delayed by us trying to fill a huge order. From now on, you can contact us and get honest advice and only mildly optimistic delivery estimates. LOL!

Thanks guys. BTW, I didn’t mention it but I should have: this doesn’t affect the relationship with TalonTunes for Black Mambas. For the foreseeable future, you can get any color .25 slug from me except black! 😆
I’m going to cut and paste my OP above to the for sale sticky. I don’t know if that will ward off the problem requests but I hope it helps a little bit.
