Edgun Caliber… .22 or .25?
I understand that every gun prefers a certain bullet, or pellet in this case. I have previously owned a 22 cal Edgun and was impressed, although it wasn’t that much more accurate than my condor..but anyway…
I’m interested in getting another Edgun and would prefer to go larger, to the .25 BUT only if it is as accurate as the .22
For those of you who have owned or currently own these guns, what are your thoughts?? (Tony???)

Yup..thinkin’ .25
Knife, Yep; I have noticed the same thing. On a perfectly calm day, the 22 JSB pellet is just as accurate as the 25 JSB pellet.
If there is any wind, the 25 is less affected by it.
The 25 JSB has a better BC and drops less on the long shots.
At 50 yards or under, the 22 is better on starlings and pigeons as the 25 goes right through them and some of the vermin fly off to die somewhere else. That isnât necessarily a bad thing as you donât have to pick up the dead critters.
After 50 yards, the 25 really starts to shine. I have a Sony DCR-SR68 video camera that mounts onto my R3. I have a video of me doing a head shot on a âdove sized birdâ at 126 yards. The Sony picked the delayed WHAP when the pellet hit the bird. If it was a 22, there wouldnât have been any sound for the camera to pick up.
I have 22 and 25 Matadors. It is a no brainier for me; the 25 is a better cal if you want to shoot something besides paper.
Nothing wrong with shooting paper: just sayn!
.25’s are always more accurate in the wind. And since we are shooting in the real world rather than indoors— Well, self explanatory! đ

If the accuracy is as good on the .25 as it is on the .22 at 30-40 yds…i’d get the .25
I’ve had both. My R2.5 was in .22 and I now have an R3 long in .25 and an R3 standard in .25.
I’ve seen comparable accuracy between both the .22 and .25 but since I primarily use my Edgun for varmint eradication I prefer .25 for the additional power on target.
If I used it primarily for target shooting, especially in high volume, I’d go with the .22 for the cost of pellets. The added cost of the .25 for target shooting is a tradeoff I’m willing to make for the extra power it delivers in hunting situations.

I have both .22 and .25 and R3 and it really is up to you what to buy. They are both very very accurate. I do tend to shoot .22 more often, but I think it is because of my backyard limitations. .25 has a good power and it blows through my back stop =) I cant make myself sell one and keep the other. I have to have both.

I just got my .25 long together with scope rings and scope and dialed in.
I did some shooting in basement only so far.
32 feet and it stacks the pellets into a big lump in a 4×4! lol
I had a lump of pellets mushed into a large clump embedded in the 4×4.
