Q:

Please confirm (matador) reg behavior

Hi gang,

is it so that when you screw in/out the reg it actually takes a number of shots before it finds its new position?

I have been going crazy trying to find the right setting but I might not have given it enough time…

Previous setting: 860fps
screw out reg: 855fps for about 25 shots then suddenly jumps up to 935fps and stay there for the next 20 shots.

maybe I was right on it at first and giving it some time would have made the jump up to 900 and stay?

Thanks, Q

EdGun

It was very late and didn’t want to weak my kid in the other room. Beside, it would be a waste of pellets as the whole purpose of this is for the regulator to pass from working pressure to non-working pressure. After that I filled to 200BAR and I need to chrony a string to see what happened. From this point on, a blanket will not help at all 😀

So would it then be enough to:
1. adjust regulator
2. fill up to lets say 130 bar, observe fps
3. shoot down to 90
4. fill up again to 130, observe fps
5. if ok, fill up to 200, full shot string

That made me giggle btw 🙂

..I put it to practice yesterday so I dry fired under the bed blanket…

This is most definitely true. But there is no rule regarding how many shots does it take to settle. I think Doctor Edgun posted that regulator settles if you fire below the working pressure of the regulator. This is a good theory and I put it to practice yesterday so I dry fired under the bed blanket from 140 to 110 BAR after adjusting the regulator. As it was very late I never tested the outcome. Today I was busy and just come on this forum before I go to sleep. Tomorrow I’ll test this theorem and make a full string on this topic : http://talonairgun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=22808&start=120

If someone else have good info, please share.
