Edgun 2.5 Pressure gauge photos
does anyone have any close up photos of the pressure gauge/fill port internals? I have a hissing sound coming out my fill port after charging and need to open it up. Just trying to get an idea of what I am facing.
If it isn’t one of the o-rings between pressure gauge and air cylinder body, is this user fixable, or will I need to get a replacement part from Tony.

Lars, that hex screw has to be loose or you won’t be able to fill the gun. As you apply air to the fill probe, that O ring is pushed off of its seat and air can come into the air tube. If that screw was tight, little or no air would get past the O ring.
If that screw is too loose, air might be able to leak out of the air tube. You might try turning the screw in a little. Remember, the O ring has to be free to move a little to work. It might not hurt to try adding some silicon grease to that O ring and then try turning the screw in a little.
I put a de pinger in a couple of my Matadors and I never noticed either of them to be any quieter.
I have the valve out of the gun, the hex screw in the middle was very very loose, is that normal?
The o-ring looks intact, but i may replace it anyway. How tight should the hex screw be on the air charging port?
While i have her open, is a de-pinger recommended for the matador?

Old Goat, great advice. I applied your investigative tricks and saw bubbles coming out the fill port.

You can check where to air is leaking by removing the screw on air gauge protector, putting the end of the barrel and air tube in a glass of water and see where the bubbles are coming from. Doing that won’t hurt anything.
It the air is coming from the threads on the gauge, it is loose or the O ring below it is shot. If the air is coming out of the fill port, the O ring below the screw in the center of the front air tube cap is leaking. If the air is coming out of the front of the air tube, the 25mm ID X 3mm thick O ring is leaking.
After doing the water test, add a drop of oil to the 3 screws to keep them from rusting.

You can (if you want to) change the reg pressure the same time.

You will probably see the problem if you take it out…
most probably the O-ring or (not very probable) the seal which is designed to burst over a certain pressure.

depends what it is?
Make sure you take ALL the air out before you even think of unscrewing the pressure gauge mounting screws.

I figured that’s how it worked, but wasn’t sure how tight was about right.
The behavior of the leak, was hissing sound at 200bar, then about 190bar, it slowed to a slow leak, about 5 bar every couple hours. It would take a week to fully leak out.
