Q:

Bushnell Elite Tactical

I am debating on upgrading to one of these scopes.. either the 4.5-30×50 model http://swfa.com/Bushnell-45-30×50-Elite-Tactical-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P48269.aspx or the 6-24×50 model http://swfa.com/Bushnell-6-24×50-Elite-Tactical-30mm-Rifle-Scope-P51670.aspx.

I have a hawke tactical 6.5 now it’s a great scope but I am in the market to getting a more quality optic for my creation. I’ll be selling the hawke scope to help pay for a new scope.

I have a Bushnell Elite Tactical 6-24×50 and was somewhat disappointed. I bought my first Hawke 6.5-20×42 Side Tact and got talked into the Bushnell. FIrst of all the Hawke is brighter in low light which was the opposite of what everybody said. Optics wise at 20x they are pretty close but I give the edge to the Bushnell. That said my Bushnell started having problems holding POI and I spent 6 months fighting with Bushnell customer support getting it replaced. No more Bushnells for me. I now have 5 6.5-20 Side Tact Hawkes on airguns and 2 of the new 8-32 Side Hawkes with SR Pro reticles on a Cricket and an Edgun and I love them. I have one 6.5-20 I damaged by overcranking the elevation knob and it left some flakes on the reticle. Hawke replaced it for free in two days. I still give a very slight clarity edge to the Bushnell Elites but they are getting real close in the latest Hawkes and not enough to justify a Bushnell. If you are looking for 1st focal plane then Bushnell is a good choice.
