6061/6082 same aluminium?
i tryed to find 6061 aluminium from dealer catalog. but didnt find any… so is 6082 aluminium same or almost same?

They are similar – in the US for a part calling for 6061 they would use 6082 in the UK.

The 6082 (and would assume the 6081) are also graded i “T” for toughness.
Ive baught T6 and TF in the past.
The 6 refers to the hardnes of the material. ie toughend to “6” and toughend to “F” = fully.
Not sureif if the”T” goes down to “0” or if there’s any “T” overlap from 6081 to 6082.
