New member, story of my first Airforce gun

Hello everyone. I thought I would introduce myself and start with the story of my first Airforce gun, my Talon SS.

I first saw a Airforce gun in a magazine around 2005, I had some Crosman 38c’s and 2240’s at the time. I remember thinking that it looked like a great design, but it was out of my price range for airguns at the time. I didn’t look into it too seriously, I just knew it was high-end.

So just a few months ago I’m in a low-end antique store, and in the case (and completely out of place) is a Talon SS (.177) with air tank, iron sights, bipod, co2 adapter and co2 tank. It looks almost new, original box and papers with cd, no wear around the breach. Price is $400, more than I wanted to spend, so I forgot about it.

I checked back last month and it was reduced to $260. I came home, did some research and thought it looked like a good deal. I went back, looked it over and both tanks were out of hydro. After some negotiating, I left with it for $240 out the door.

I picked up a scuba fill kit and tri-rail on the yellow forum for $65, and I had an appropriate scope from another gun.

Feeling pretty good.

I do have a few questions, so I’ll head to the Talon SS section with those.
