Heavy Hammer and/or Heavy spring for High Power?
Hi guys,
I’m preparing my Condor for high power competition this weekend, I’ve just fitted a 103gr brass hammer and filled the bottle to 2800psi. I took 2 shots and noticed that the heavier hammer has minimal effect at this fill pressure.
Now my question is-if I replace the stock spring with a heavier spring (this will obviously open the valve more ) how far can I push it without damaging the valve stem/tophat?
I want to set the power upto around 90fpe. Ammo will be 37,5gr Daystate Rangemasters.
Any help appreciated.

Thanx for the replies, I measured the wire on both springs. The stock spring is 1,6mm and the heavier spring is 1,8mm. There is a reasonable difference in power and I think it will give me the results that I’m looking for.
@Knifemaker-the caliber is .22, I haven’t tested the Daystates so I’m not sure how they’ll do accuracy wise. I’ll test them after work. They’re also expensive here IF you can get them. I have a few left that I’ll use for the comp. After that I’ll go over to 30gr Piledivers.
Thanx again for the help.
