Q:

When is there going to be a comparison of the top shrouds?

There’s a lot of variables from sound, if its removed will it still shoot the same after its put back on the gun without adjusting it and how strong is it? I personally use my gun to kill things on a daily basis going to a lot of places and not just shooting off of my kitchen table at feeders. I don’t throw my gun down but I do need to be able to take the shroud/tank off put it in book bag till I get where I need to kill animals! Thanks for any info. This site has been a huge help.

Just a word of warning here…. I tried that a couple of years ago, and 1000 miles later had to have my engine rebuilt. :twak:

Oh yes yes yes….I know what you are thinking! Well, you are wrong! I DID re-oil the rubber gasket when I was done, and used a proper wrench to tighten it back on when I reinstalled it on my truck…

I only look stupid…

talon p with one of tony shrouds

This is a video I made with a condor .22 cal. 12”barrel and a Blue Jay Shroud.

This is called a Ambushpack.Holds a Talonss with scope on and 12inch barrel, and air tank, all in a backpack.
It has 3 pouches with zippers that will hold air tanks,or water bottles,or a Shroud.

I like it ,padding is real good. I love the Blue Jay Shroud,But the Pigeons, they are not talking!

What type are the baffels m,k or something else?

Yes. They are machined into it. That’s why there’s so many pieces. The last 6″ are machined out of 2″ solid bar.

Doug, do use any kind of baffels in the shroud?

Wow Doug! That is truly a thing of beauty! 😯 😀

There are a number of good builders and sellers for the shrouds here. I currently have a tt and a r&l. Both are great. I use my guns for work and was trying to get a very compact setup to fit in an average backpack. Well 2 guns in and I failed. Lol 😀 I did end up with 2 nice guns.

For my talonp I ended up using an tool box of all thing to get every thing to fit nice and not look like a gun case.

I hope you can get it all to work in a book bag. 🙂

Here’s my newest shroud. This one is off my .25. Measurses 13.25″x 1.875″

Works real good. .308 one is 4″ longer. Does not use the frame, shroud is sealed at the barrel/frame.

Very effective with JSB’s at 900-930 fps. Works good at 150 fpe also.

1) Lelya in .22 is 24″ long. $1400

2) Marauder Pistol is 18″ long with folded stock. $350 stock. $550 tricked out.

Both guns shoot in the high teens fpe, but the Prod has to be slightly modified. Neither is going to attract a lot of attention unless you are in town.

Jim Gaska makes a shroud extension that adds 4″ to the Prod. There is also a double tube mod available for the Prod to double the shot count. $140 for the kit. Figure 30 to 40 dollars for the tune up kit to increase power.

You’ve got options, but plan on less than 150 foot shots for best results on critters.

Removing a shroud should not affect any airgun’s performance to a noticeable degree…unless you are target shooting.

Good luck finding a gun and shroud that will fit in a book bag!

Maybe a VERY big book bag? 😆
