Barrel Bushings?
If this is the wrong place, please move.
Anyone have a set of 25 cal barrel bushings they would be willing to sell, or trade for? Finally got a 25 barrel, sans bushings. Need a little feed back, I have done the Talon valve modifications found in the quick reference section, does the collective think that will be a good start, as the seller of the barrel told me it likes JSB Kings 25.3gr the best? If you think I need to move to the Condor valve, I have one in my CO2 adapter that is only used with HPA regulated bottles, so the Talon valve would work just fine there is I need to swap them out. Thanks for all the input, and this great board. I know I don’t speak up much, but I do read every day. You guys kill me, I have to be careful not to laugh out loud at work most days.

OK, I admit, I have to be one of the cheapest pricks on the planet. I ended up taking a couple of hard nylon spacers, drilling the center hole to 5/8″, then sanding them till they fit. I just had to get that barrel installed, OK, so I’m a little impatient at times too. Anyway, I also spotted and drilled, then tapped the side holes for the grub screws, and amazing, I got the bitch installed. Should have taken some pictures, but was in a hurry. I have actually ordered the correct bushings, but again with the patients. I just had to be able to shoot it! So I get it there, finally found a good fill pressure, looks to be 2800. With that fill and the 25.39 gr kings, she shoots them an average of 815.5 FPS for 37.5 FPE. Then you can already guess, it was f-ing loud. So again, I start digging through my crap, and finally find an old TV wall mount that the tubing was exactly 1.00″ I had already measured the end cap with my micrometer to find the size. Well, I lopped off a piece of the pipe, then couldn’t find an end cap. Ended up driving a shot piece of dowel in the end, finding the center, and drilled a 3/8″ hole just to make sure it wouldn’t clip. Damn if my cheap butt didn’t manage to get it at least down to where my neighbors don’t jump when I shoot it now. I will end up buying a nice shroud, and drilling the new bushings when they arrive, just happy to get her up and running. I guess if nothing else I can be resourceful.
I’ll get some pictures together, and update if anyone cares to see them. I can’t thank everyone here enough, if it wasn’t for the quick reference section, the Mods and Machinist, and all the great feed back, and some very helpful people, I would not enjoy this rifle as much as I do. I have several Crosman 22xx, and others, but this is my favorite. I have only been into the adult air guns for a couple of years, but the massive amount of information, and helpful people here have really enlightened me. One thing I have learned is I don’t have to have a Sam Yang to build some power, and with the straight forward design of the Airforce rifles, it’s not out of reach, even for someone just getting started.

You could do that or buy a new one. Those same people also make valve stems
Understood, and thank you. What are your thoughts on the valve, try the current setup and change as deemed needed? The current setup will sling 21.1 gr H&N’s in the high 700’s to low 800’s with 10+ on the power wheel.
