Q:

New Cricket!

Thanks Dima!

Picked up a .22 Cricket Skeleton stock from Dima on Friday
Here she is…

I put a little scope on it hehe…
4-16×50 w/ 30mm tubes on Leupold low rise rings
I know its overkill but I had it in my safe

First day I used it in the field the butt pad came off. I almost lost it, had to superglue it back on

Instead of ordering a $80 probe whip and having to wait a few days on it. I went to Amazon hose and had them make up a 24in whip and custom make a 1/8″ bspp adapter. Works perfect and only cost $25. But I fill with a 110cuft lowpress scuba tank that I purge fill to 3600psi, so I only get about a 3/4 fill. Even at 3/4 fill I still get 4 clips before needing to recharge.

This gun is AMAZINGLY accurate, even with cheapo Premier hollow points, it holds 1″ groups at 50 yards. Ill sight it in at 100yds when the 15gr jsbs show up.

I went with the low rise Leupold rings, it felt fine to me with the wooden receiver cover digging in perfectly right below my cheek bone.
Lower the better for any gun, and this is actually a little bit higher than I like. The gun the scope came off of was a rem mod 70 ss 24in heavy fluted barrel 338 win mag and even with the big barrel I was able to use ultra low Leupold rings with a scope stand over of only 1.8ish inches. And the scope cleared the barrel by less than .125in. On the cricket I have 2.25in of over bore with a good .3in before it gets close to the baffle which is another .3ish inch away from the barrel.

I went with the high weaver 30mm rings as well for the best cheek weld. I would go with whatever fits your build best. The Cricket is flexible on ring height with the raised mount. I dont worry about barrel scope distance as much as I do on a flat shooting high powered varmint rifle going out to 500 yards. ChairGun Pro is good for projecting pellet flight.

Congrats  , nice score. I have a question on the low optic mounts, did you try and use them? I tried the low mounts on mine at first and I couldn’t get a good check weld. I went to the high mounts and they made a much better fit for me.

😯 Holy cow Warboom72 a Swarovski 😯 😯 That’s one fine set up 😎 😎

About time some one around here put some decent glass on a AG! 😉

Nice set-up. 😉

What is the larger fitting by the guage on your fill hose?

That’s the DIN valve fitting I screw it into my scuba tanks

I have a nice Gamma Master Chrony but I need to pick up a printer for it.

I did notice that my numbered gauge on the Cricket is about 200 psi off (reads too low) because I think Joe’s large glycerin filled gauge on my hose assembly is right on the money from other comparisons. Thats relatively insignificant on a 3200-3300 psi fill but about 5% off. I still prefer the numbered gauge that came on this late Cricket.

I just can’t get over how nice the trigger setup on the Cricket and I am really picky on triggers. The second stage is short and crisp at 12 ozs. With sorted pellets, the impressive regulator and trigger, the inherent accuracy I have seen so far in the barrel, I look forward to some 100 yard shooting off of the indoor bench rest I can use on weekends. I want to get at least 500 pellets though it before I do any serious testing.

I actually need to get another chrono, I had one but I left it on my truck toolbox and it disappeared on my way home. 🙂
I’m happy with whatever the fps/psi is set at. I shot at 70yards today it only dropped 2.5ish inches and still held 1inch groups other than the odd 2in flier that I blame on the super cheapo light pellets

I’d be curious what your Cricket is chronying. I did the first twenty shots off of a 210 bar fill and it averaged 903 fps with 18.1 JSBs (33 FPE). A bit faster than I expected. Granted it only has about 150 pellets through it so it really isn’t shot in yet. The shot string is very flat so the regs are impressive. I will do a full string when I get some more pellets through it.

Nice scope too!

I have the Edgun r3 long but I think the cricket is awesome.
Really going take a good share of the market
