Can someone share with what spring is needed for a 9mm valve
Just received a 9mm valve, hammer, bolt from Sean but I came without a hammer spring Sean can you or some one advise me what spring is needed please as I am so close to having the project ready to test. 😀

If I had a spring spare I would of sent 1 Tof’
Can’t remember if I sent one with 1st kit I sent but it’s unlikely I wouldn’t have if I said I would.
I re sent this kit at my cost as the 1st kit never reached the intended destination.
Sorry Sean did tell me I needed to machine the hammer so yeah it is heavy so 120 grams it will be.
Trying to source a spring now, parts looks nice thanks Sean.

No for some reason the condor style valves open a little easier. Don’t know if it is because of the shorter stem.
I have made your valve and move the o ring to the shaft instead of on the tophat. I thought that might be the difference.
Believe me I wish your valve opened the same. It does not get tank dump even whith a .200″ tophat and a soft return spring.
I have to run a 49 lb return spring and anything over .100″ tophat will cause tank dump on .308.
Same valve with a smaller hole(.281″ instead of .320″)in the stem on .257 isn’t effected. I have run up to .135″ tophat and no problem.
I also made a larger version of yours with same .320″ seal opening and couldn’t get it to open all the way will a 15 lb spring pre loaded all the way.
It’s because you’re better than me obviously.
The hammer Isn’t 200g.
It is a solid blank I supplied to be bored out as I didn’t know the barrel OD.
If I’d’ve had any springs I would’ve most gladly included one.
I don’t charge for them as a rule and there’s a minimum order of £35 plus carriage. So it costs me roughly $60 ?
The next time i order some I’ll forward 1.
Yeah blod valve is harder to open than my valve. Don’t know why.
With the heavier hammer you shouldn’t have to preload it as much.
Will find out when I make my new .308 with a 120-130 gr hammer and lighten it if I have to. Same with .257. Going for 120 gr.

That’s heavy. Mine are 100 gr. I would go for 120 gr. I’m going to try heavier hammers in .257 and .308 here soon. See if I can get more open time with less spring.
Going to be hard to cock. Should convert to side cocker.
Its 200 grams still needs to be machined what should it be machined down to?

You will need a 13 lb spring. .975″x 3.5″x .085″ is what I use. Century part # 72392
I have a blod valve and it will open with this spring. How heavy is the hammer?
ummmm, how big is the hole in the center of the hammer and how much does the hammer weigh?
Come on Sean, you should have at least provided the guy with a STARTER Spring as its honestly all guess from here
