Drift-Chairgun question

I’m shooting 31 grain .25 CUDAs around 967 FPS at 100 yards. Chairgun predicted a 5.2 inch drift. However, this drift seemed to be much less in real life situation. Is this supposed to happen or am i just tripping? Also, what’s the GA(BC) value in Chairgun stand for? How to measure my scope height if my rings are drooped? Thank u all!

As far as windage or drift is concerned, an old timer taught me an absolutely cool sure fire method. He said to wet your trigger finger and hold it pointed up until cooled, take careful aim, watch closely where the bullet strikes and adjust your second shot accordingly. In the event your first shot hit the target in the balls instead of the other end, rest assured he will not genetically pass on his new found knowledge to future generations. If you missed that too and spooked him off, never again wear the same hat while hunting.

For the scope height measurement with a drooped scope imagine or draw an exaggerate picture of the scope barrel relationship. The scope tube will be aimed directly at the target but the barrel pointed upwards above the target. The forward objective end of the scope will appear real close to the barrel and eyepiece much further away from the line of the barrel. Now it becomes obvious like Tofazfou. said, the center of the scope where the crosshair is, is the proper place to measure the height.

I get the same results some times too. Seems to be less drift than what Chairgun sais but, i know the wind speed at me is often times slower or faster at the target downrange.

Wind is very tricky and is the reason why many shooters use wind flags AT THE TARGET and a wind meter at THEM!

Thats why some days you can shoot a 4 inch 100 yard group then the next you shoot a 1.5″ er

im still pretty far from 1.5 lol…i got it down to around 3. i saw some of ur impressive work with the talon though, pretty crazy power and accuracy…i live in socal too and shoot at oaktree gun club by the 5 freeway. If u live close by i’d love to have a range day with you and my treat for the range fee if ur interested.

Center of Scope to Center of barrels bore is how you determine the scope height. Droop or not, measure as close as you can from center of barrel to center of scope in the space that’s between the front and rear scope rings.

oops, i forgot to change the wind speed, it was 5 mph…thank you very much Tofazfou for the info!
