Q:

Cricket + Bipod

I’ve been looking around here and there and haven’t been able to find anybody that has one attached yet. I have seen a few people with their Edguns that have a short rail system installed to accept a bipod most notably the Atlas flavor. My question is, does or has any one mounted a bipod on your cricket yet? I was considering this on the 25 Cal skeleton version as the bulldog version seems to have a beefy and short front hand grip not really meant for a bipod where as the skeleton stock has a nice front extension like the edgun and might have enough clearance. I wasn’t sure if there was going to be enough clearance on the front portion of the stock.

Edit: I actually found a bunch on their facebook page, I”ll just post them up for reference in case anyone else was curious.

Take a look half way down this page, it seems the best way to mount a bipod without loosing real estate for your hand on the forearm.

That option looks sturdy but I also noticed that your sling stud has some really fine threads on it. In your case I would more than likely want to go the route that you are taking with the brass thread lock, the sling studs that I will be getting are made for wood application and have a coarse thread on them

I got the stud from ebay. It is stainless steel and has 10-32 machine threads instead of the wood screw threads that your sling stud has. My threads are made to screw into a threaded insert or a nut. The machined threads studs are common and should be readily available. Here is the ebay auction. where I got mine: http://www.ebay.com/itm/350728176301?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I was also considering a short rail but I wasn’t sure that I was going to use the rail for more than what the intent is which would be a bipod so I may just keep my original plan and go with the above sling studs from amazon. here is the short rail section I was thinking about installing

I see the short rail installed in photos from other people’s Crickets or Ed guns. They usually use a Atlas bipod but the Harris should work. Just make sure you get the picatinny/weaver rail adapter. http://www.ebay.com/itm/PICATINNY-RAIL-ADAPTER-FOR-HARRIS-STYLE-BIPODS-/130853165605?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e7774da25

I like Harryparatestis’s solution with the bolted on adapter. That’s slick!

Harris Bipod’s are nice, fairly inexpensive and function well. Quality made in the USA product that have been around a long time.

I have Harris Bipods on all my guns and they work real well for me. It’s a steady platform, works well and is not overpowering to hold.

I have the Harris Bipod and mounting hardware ready to install on my Cricket. Tomorrow maybe. Instead of screwing the stud directly into the wood I saw someone using a brass EZ-Lok thread insert. Makes for a cleaner, more robust install.

I like the Atlas bipods but the Harris is much cheaper. $80 for everything, All from the bay of evil. Nice pics by the way.

Any advice or suggestion is greatly appreciated.

This isn’t a Kricket stock, but this is what I did on my Maddog stock and it works fantastic. someone made me a mount and I attached it with threaded inserts so If I want I could remove the bracket or just take off my bipod if i want to.
