Q:

Ready for the yr

Edgun Matador R3 22 long.
88 and 12 cf 4500psi tanks.
Hill Mk3 pump for long stays up at cabin once tanks run dry(only 12v power for lights and small 2k gen just in case up there)..
Little over 31k JSBs 18s with appx 8k already sized and sorted.
Another 1k worth of Predators off to side.
Should be another fun yr of shooting.
Should break the 50k pellets mark on the Edgun. Little over half way there now 🙂

Great “bug out kit”

I love the stuff you do Oldgaot. But I have to say if I were in your position with amount of air you use I’d probably pass on shoebox/97 tank combo and apply $$$ difference to a Bauer or Airtex compressor for current tanks. Plus you could add a big tank for storage like this later
http://www.airetex.com/paintball.html

Demp: I also am on the list for a 9 mm OR a 30cal Matador, whatever Ed decides to make and send. Hell; I will gladly take one of each!

I will make a .257” out of it. I have the Hart .257” Barrels waiting.

I live within 5 minutes of 2 firehouses and they gladly fill my 45 and 66 cf tanks for free. The 2 tanks would usually last me a week or so until I got a 30 cal FX Boss. That thing fills to 3625 psi and only gets around 40 shots per fill shooting the 46.5 grain JSB pellets at 873 fps. It is amazing how fast it will run a 4500 psi filled 66 cf tank down to 3000 psi! 😯

It is an air hog and I know that the 30 cal/9 mm Matador will get at least as many shots and not use as much air but, it will still use a lot more air than the regular Matadors do.

I wanted more power out of the Boss, I plan on shooting my .257” 50-65 grain cast bullets out of it. I tried a heavier hammer and I turned the HST screw all of the way in. I still got 873 fps! I had to remove the Boss’s regulator to get it to shoot 990 with the 46.5 JSB pellets. The regulator is the limiting factor on the Boss.

I have an Altos regulator ordered for the Boss and I hope to get 15-20 regulated shots, with my 55 grain cast bullets, at 950 fps. I just got a 28” long Hart .257” barrel for the Boss and a 26” long .257” Hart barrel for my R3 25 long. I am taking the barrels out for machining and threading tomorrow.

I hope to be able to turn the Matador up and be able to shoot 30 and 35 grain cast .257” bullets out of it at around 950 fps.

I am going to order a Freedom 8 and a 97 cf tank from Joe, before the firehouse guys run me off. 😆

Where did you find that base for the bottom of your scba bottle? Looks like it would keep it from rolling around. 😉

Scuba shop has them for appx $15. It will keep it from rolling off table but not in back of car. I use my Husky plastic/diamond plate tote tool box for big bottle. It fits perfect along with fill gauge and several tins plus a few small odds and ends. The little bottle goes in backpack and gives a handful of refills when out for a couple hrs plinking and hunting. A good 700-800 pellets worth of fun there for the day

I think you need some more ammo… 😆

I’m glad I buy 177. 😯

To much sorting and not enough shooting Dude 😯 You are loaded for Bear, You better start lifting some weights to be able to carry all those pellets at one time 😀

Haha. This is yr two on Edgun. I’ve already sized and shot some 25k pellets the first yr.
I’m 5-10 225 and mostly muscle. I primarily bow hunt and compete in tournaments with a 72lb Mathews Monster and stalk hunt several hundred acres of steep terrain a day with at least a 30lb pack .Not to mention dragging back a deer
Airgun hunting is a breeze 🙂 .

very nice. a shoebox would be perfect.

I thought about that but being I pass by my dive shop daily and it only cost $6 for a slightly higher than 4500 refill its hard to justify.
I get an easy 20 full refills from tank plus a few less than . Appx 115 regulated shots before refill.
That’s appx 2500 pellets per tank.I’ve had tank refilled 11 times ($66)now and little over 25 k pellets through gun in one yr. if I keep at this pace it will take 10 yrs to break even on shoebox. The Hill pump is backup for long week at cabin with lots of shooting.
Although once my 9mm Edgun arrives I will probably look into shoebox and cascade another tank.

How do you size and sort 8k pellets?

Patience and a slight case of OCD 🙄
And an understanding wife with plenty of wine.
