Fun shooting Cricket 25 next to my Edgun 22
Got a chance to shoot a friends new Cricket 25 with bulldog stock today out at Ione.
Have to say I’m impressed. Standing about 6 ft away as he shot, the impact of pellet on paper target(cardboard backed) at 25m is as loud if not slightly louder than the muzzle report.
Holding the gun it is nicely balanced. I particularly liked the grip.
I already reworked the front of my Edgun grip many months back and it’s similar to Cricket. What I really liked was how backside of Cricket grip was shaped. Webbing between thumb fell into slot nicely. I’ll be reshaping the Eds backside now.
The short front stock is odd and really needs to be longer for my reach. Someone with shorter arms should be fine.
The lever cycles magazine nicely and loads pellet smoothly. Trigger is solid and consistent. The hammer noise is significantly louder than my 22 but I figure that’s ok being its a 25.
Accuracy is on spot.
Probably only issue is the magazine storage. The magazines don’t fit snug into its holder and if you don’t have gun pointed downward allowing gravity to keep mag in place while accessing another it will fall out and get in way when closing adjacent holder. I’m assuming there should be a rod across entire bottom allowing each holder to pivot out as there is holes all along bottom. His doesn’t have pin so each holder comes completely out.Easy fix.
Overall impressed. Then he brought out his FX Boss. Now that was NICE!!

Mine came w/o a magazine pivot rod in the hinge, used a 3/32″ SS welding rod. You have to take the gun outta the stock, unscrew the holder from inside.
Seems like a fairly big oversight for a $1800 USD gun… 🙁
