Q:

Good scopes for a TX200 that chews on them and spits ’em out

My .22 TX200 spring-piston rifle just ate its second scope. Can anybody recommend a tough one that can withstand the TX200’s firing behavior? I like one that has a sidewheel to adjust the parallax.

Brand name says it all?

My seal was fine on my TX200 too as I did take it apart to do occasional lubes and shot over a chronograph enough to know velocity was what it was and should be.

Just curious, which scope rings are you using?

I am using a one piece mount with an arrestor pin.

The piston seal is all good. I just replaced it and it seals perfectly. Anybody ever had any experience with the MTC scopes on a springer? I have a Hawke Sidewinder 30, but it is now on my Cricket and I don’t want to remove it as it’s perfect with the gun.

If it is eating scopes then chances are you have a piston seal problem, not a scope problem

All low budget scopes will fail, good luck? These are heavy recoil scopes http://www.straightshooters.com/heavy-recoil-scopes.html Give Straight Shooters a call to see what they recommend. Stay away from leapers.

My TX200 devoured a Bushnell Legend and a Leapers SWAT scope. My budget is set at $350-$400.

BTDT with a TX200.
Buying right the first time is often the cheapest and gives best enjoyment for time spent.
I say that because many think a Leupold VX II 3-9X33 EFR is expensive.
But that scope did very well on my TX200 and continues to do so without missing a beat on my HW50S.
I remember having a Weaver 3-9 x33 AO rimfire scope on the TX200 after it went through a Banner and Trophy.
At a shot things went a bit blurry and i thought a drip of water fell on the lens.
Turned out the ocular lens shattered.
I’ve a Nikon Prostaff 3-9 EFR that is springer rated on a R9. Haven’t had it the longest but i am pretty pleased with it so far.
Bit less money than the Leupold .
FWIW.

What exactly did it eat and what budget are we looking at?

One of these should do …… http://www.straightshooters.com/leupold-air-rifle-scopes.html both very reasonably priced, actually very affordable !

This surly will hold up for you http://www.airgunsofarizona.com/SchmidtBender.html Very unreasonably priced an will surely break the bank.
