Cheek piece….
I don’t know if this it’s been posted here yet but I saw a post on the Yellow about a falling cheek problem like mine π
This guy used a drill but I thought this piece is very thin and weak, so used a flat screwdriver a some magnets that I got from amazon, again!!! π
Make sure the screwdriver is the same length as the magnet.
work your way down into the wood very slowly, once you get the right size hole try to fit the magnet if it does put some glue and you are done!
I shake my rifle all directions all I want and this thing doesn’t move, the magnets work like a champ!!!!

As soon as I got it I took it for a hunting session, i sighted in @50 yards i was getting 1/2 inch groups, no barrel cleaning, nothing! Pretty good performance right out of the box! I can’t wait to see how much she can improve with some work on it. π
Had some time yesterday and grabbed a couple tins, the carbon fiber tank, cricket, EDgun and went for it. I had turned down the cricket to 900’s and had left it there but decided after hearing that these things are accurate in the 930’s I wanted to test that. But first up was the EDgun, after getting in the new adjustable scope rings and mounting the scope I was able to put the scope at mechanical factory elevation and just adjust the rings to the proper height so that I have pretty much equal adjustment range on either side of elevation. Over the crony, the EDgun was shooting around 905 right out of the box that would deviate about 5-6 FPS from shot to shot, not too bad. I am guessing that this is the new factory tune for these rifles and Ed doing his homework and reading/listening to what the forum members are saying works well for the most commonly used pellet. So to see that was pretty nice. No tuning out of the box except for the trigger to soak up some of that first stage. The second stage feels really nice and has a nice “wall” to it before a clean break. The nod goes to the EDgun for the buttery smooth glass break trigger. The cheek piece on the EDgun is also pretty comfy, for it being straight metal. I also can get away with medium rings as I need High rings for the cricket. The Edgun weighs less and is pretty noticeable against the cricket. The one real problem is the same with the majority, I have to shoot one at a time which can take a little time and doesn’t let me leave to far from the pellet tin. I know people don’t mind the single shot and I ultimately don’t either but will surly enjoy the rifle more when Ed releases his multi-shot kit.
The Cricket is for sure heavier and longer but not by much. After a tin of kings I can say the trigger feels almost artificial. I feel like the first and second stage kind of blur together and can be an issue when trying to take up first stage and hold on second to snap off the shot. Iβm sure with a little trigger tuning I can take up some first stage and make the second stage more pronounced. Sorry I donβt have any shot stings for you guys as I didnβt want to spend the time to do that, I just wanted to use the crony to make sure I was getting a consistent string with both the rifles. When I get more time to shoot, I will post shot strings but there are some on the forum already and Iβm sure mine wonβt be much different. After shooting a few over the chrony and bringing the cricket up into the 930βs next was to check accuracy. I have one of Steel Plinkers quadrant targets set up at 50 yards and I have to tell you, the cricket was spitting the JSB kings at a very consistent 936 FPS and basically hitting a ΒΎ inch target every single time with only a 3-4 FPS deviation and sometimes only a .2 – .9 FPS deviation. More testing to come but to be honest I have to give a nod to the Cricket. The EDgun is an awesome, light weight, accurate shooter with a great trigger but there is something about the Cricket that I just keep coming back to it. The EDgun will stay for further testing not to mention itβs just an awesome rifle. Here are some pics of the family.

to allow me to compensate for the rail cant.
I haven’t chronied it yet, but I think she’s is shooting close to the 900s.

The 25 is pretty nice little hammer. From the pictures of it I thought it was going to be pretty long but once I got it, it fit nice and wasn’t too long at all. I laid it next to the EDgun 25 standard and to be honest, the 25 standard is not that much shorter than the 25 cricket, but it is noticeably lighter. Out of the box it was shooting 950’s with jsb kings. I noticed that I was getting ridiculous flier here and there and I couldn’t figure out why. At 60 yards it would stack a few than pull one about 3 or 4 inches off target. So I turned it down to 900’s and still got the same result. I than face palmed my forehead and took out the cleaning kit. In the height of excitement I forgot to clean the barrel and went right to shooting it. Wow was that the issue. After about 10-12 really dirty and borderline rusty looking patches she started to clean up nice and than I re-zeroed the rifle. I left it in the 900’s but thinking I’m going to turn it back up into the 920’s-930’s as I have talked to other that are getting laser accuracy at that speed, so hey why not. Haven’t had time to shoot the Edgun that much as I’m still waiting on rings from straight shooter to allow me to compensate for the rail cant.
Yeah it’s an easy fix but you got to be careful, that piece is very thin you can brake it if you put to much pressure on it!
BTW how is your .25 shooting speed/pellet?
I really like the stock finished but it gets scratched so easy,
I’m thinking paint it or camo dipped it, it’s such a beautiful wood but very weak.
I took it out for its first hunt last week and it has scratches everywhere! :/
I must have gotten lucky with my 25 cal, mine actually clicks into place and doesn’t move. I had actually put a set of these rare earth magnets in my amazon shopping cart and held out till I received the rifle to make sure I needed them. Looks like you did a clean job putting the magnets in there.

Yes they are! you are right this litle monster are STRONG!!! if you noticed on the first pic i had put the screwdriver far away from it! π
they are very strong but you can still remove it with your hand.
there you go bud!
Octavius if you have problems getting them let me know, i have several left i can mail them to you.
If those are rare earth magnets, don’t you have a problem lifting the cheek piece off the breech? It seems one or two would do the deed. Those little devils are STRONG!!!

This is very useful information. Can you show a link of those magnets ?

I’m glad everything it’s working out for you! I had to adjust the trigger a little bit, it was very easy, I can’t wait to take her out again for some testing too, I have a brand new chrony that I haven’t used that i bought a few months ago! π
I would love to see a semi auto from Ed that it can really shoot! π
