Tank Tophat question
Hi Guys,
My new .25 caliber Condor came with a tank pressure dated 06-2012 and the tophat was gnurled a bit. So Airforce shipped me a new tank. The only issue is that this says .22 on it, part number U1037, pressure dated 12-2012
The tophat on my original is larger in diameter where the Allen head screws go in. The tophat on the new on is taller wher the screws are, but not as large in diameter.
So what in the world? Is the tophat different on the .25 and the .22 Condor hi-flo tank?

NO TWO TANKS WILL SHOOT THE SAME AT THE SAME TOPHAT GAP.

Set the gap up for the best velocity at a given power wheel setting. Or just figure out which PW setting works for each tank and reset the PW each time you switch tanks.
The factory sets the tophat gap to fill the gap between the TH and the breech/bolt o-ring when it is in the closed position. Has nothing to do with setting it up for a certain power.
If you want to keep the gap between the tophat and the breech closed then adjust the PW setting for each tank.

I was able to crony the new tank airforce sent me today. It was very quite and onky registered 928 fps over a string of 5. I had it filled to 2900 psi.
Filled the original to 2900 and sent 5 shots over the chrony. 1080, 1077, etc.
So needless to say, my eyeball might be right. I am telling you it is different in size, the tophat looks different and looks to be adjusted the same. I couldn’t be exact without a dial caliper.

I was under the impression that the tophat was adjusted from the factory?
You need to adjust the tophat. Loosen the screws and set it so it matches or set it against the breech so you have no play when you lock the breech.
It is hard to tell, here are some pics. The telling part is the space between the outside of the tophat to the outside of the brass. I have anti-seize on the original. Maybe the new kne is correct and I got an old one? Who knows.
They shouldnt be different.
All high flo Condor tanks are the same except the .177 Condor tanks have a heavier valve return spring.
