Q:

TD257 Tank and Valve "BLACKENED"

My tank is finally finished. Doug sent some parts in to be “BLACKENED” and called me the other day to tell me my valve assembly was done. The valve looks AWESOME and another “BIG THANKS to DOUG” I love all the black on black.

I then went and finished BEDLINING my 53 ci Tank as the 1st coat was just to get the gun up and running for testing while i awaited getting my valve blackened. The entired bottle and valve are completed.

I love Truck Bed Liner. Its some damn good stuff and has its uses on guns. Its super durable and very hard to CHIP off especially if you prepare the item you are painting before hand.

My TD257 is a most amazing gun. Thanks to Doug and Adam for doing such great work and making awesome parts!

Now, what do i do with my barrel??????????………………………… 😆

STAY TUNED!

Knife,

My TJ barrel liner is .562″ OD. SO yeah, .455 is pretty thin especially once you subtract the bore diameter of .257.

I believe Dougs and Joes and Mine are all pretty much within a .001 or so of each others OD’s. I know me and Doug and Joe’s barrels all SLUGGED pretty much the same which is amazing.

Joe,

I’ve never had that happen with Bedliner but i have with some cheap ass cans of sprays. So yeah, who knows bro, those can you bought could have been sitting on the shelves for years or those nozzles were FUNKED up from the manufacturer or something. But in the 4 cans i’ve bought, they have all been wonderful

I bought two cans of that in the past and both cans were “lemons” I was never able to know the potential of the liner as both cans malfunctioned in that they never sprayed the liner only the carrier! I figured it was due to both cans possibly sitting too long on the shelves. I’ll try it again in the near future.

Can’t remember who it was. 😕 I do remenber that they put a thin coat of epoxy on the bbl, and pushed the bushing on. This was so the set screws didn’t have to be so tight, and possibley dent the inside of the barrel as it was very thin.

This bbl. is about .455. What does your mic. at Tof? I figured TJ’s would be a bit thin since they are liners.

Joe,

Rustoleum Sir.

Doug just bought and used some the other day and he loves it. Its honestly great stuff and STICKS to metal real good. It also looks damned nice in person.

That’s awesome Cedric! Tank looks real nice! What brand bedliner do you use?

Mike,

NO SIR. NOT ME! NO EPOXY on my bushings. That’s horrible…lol

Hey Tof! Looks Great. 😉 If they didn’t already make truck bed liner, some one would have to invent it! 😉

I received a nice box of goodies yesterday afternoon. Putting it all together this morning.

Barrel is very thin. should make for a lighter over all gun. 😎

If I remember correctly, didn’t you use a bit of epoxy on the bushings? Or was that you. My memory isn’t what it use to be. Hell, never was for that matter. 😳

Knife

Looks good
