First groups with the new brake
I got to shoot at 260 yards today in the late afternoon. It was windy and intermittent rain.
I had raised my shooting box and bench to better clear the deck railing and allow me to put the chrony on the deck railing.
I also altered the glass bedding today, and put in a different spring, so I really broke the cardnal rule of doing one mod at a time and see how it works.
The new muzzle break.
I was shooting the 257420 HP dropping at 71.5 grains weighed to +or- .1 grain, shot unsized and lubed with Traxx Silicone oil 10 wt, PSI was at 3500 PSI and I was getting 1100 FPS.
I shot from the bipod with no rear rest while standing for this .82 MOA group.
This .50 MOA group was fired from the bipod, standing with the Caldwell range bag under the heel.

RC I too would like to see pics of how you glassed your rifles.
When I did my S410 I glassed the tube and action full length but the results were worse than no glass.
So I removed the glass from most of the tube/forearm area and youre probably tired of hearing about how well I think it worked.
I was not aware of that trick with 10/22’s, the idea never crossed my mind to float the action. I might have to try that, but Ill have to fill the flutes in the barrel first with clay or something.

Forgot to say, outstanding shooting as usual. Your backyard engineering on some of your work astounds me. I still cant beleive you got away with dremeling your leade. LOL

I might have some pictures on one of my chips.
I have bedded a lot of rifles.
The most difficult were the M1A’s, it takes a few days to get them right. I used to have some jigs I had made for bedding them, you also had to hang a weight off the muzzle while the action was upside down and the glass hardening.
I glassed both the Ranger and the Haley, use the same technique that is used for the bull barrel 10-22′ where only the bull barrel is glassed and the action hangs free, in this case the air tube is what I glass in.

Nice shooting as always Charlie! Nice stripper too! I didn’t know that you bedded that stock. Did you post pics of the process. I think eventually bedding will be a lost art like “lead filling” in cars 😥
