Name the screw and win the grand price !
What is this screw (the Allen key pointing at it) for and is there some kind of an adjustment done with it ? If so then which/what/why ?? It was set very loosely on my cauge so i went on and tightened it somewhat. Now i don´t know if i did something bad,bad,bad … 😯
Oh – and for those that don´t know what part it is : It´s the backside of the gun pressure cauge on EdGun Matador R3.

I did proceed for another tune last night, I believe I am close in. I got a partial string around 860fps since my tank went out quickly in this kind process. Definitely the chart looks encouraging. I have updated my blog below. Another 1/4 turn-in of HST will push the curve up to 870fps.
Thanks for the encouragement . I have done my 4th trial, and the gun is running around 800-825fps. My next tune will be next weekend.
I don´t think anything´s wrong. Just keep on going untill you reach the setting where you peak at the desired fps. All these Ed´s are individuals so if mine is doing 890 at 3 o´clock yours can be far from that with the same setting. I suggest you just keep going in small increments. Time consuming – yes , but you´ll hit the mark eventually. It took me five try´s to get there.
I also realized one thing in the process : The previous owner of this rifle – who tuned it down to clear the UK 12 ftlbs law – gave me wrong info regarding the reg setting he had for the down tune. He said he went CW “maybe 1/4 turn or something” and when i first opened the gun to get the reg back to std setting the adj. screw was at ” 2 o´clock ” so i backed it out just that tiny bit. I´ve now realized it wasn´t at 2 at all but rather nearly 3/4 turn CW from std setting = 1/2 turn more. This made things little confusing at first but i sorted it out at the end.
My first tune failed indeed. Dial to 5 o’clock. The gun is still going from 600fps all to way to 925fps.

I think yours is the newest version of reg/AV then since mine has a screw driver slot behind that hex headed cap. The adjuster screw is supposed to be very easy to turn.
There is another smaller hex hole behind it. The adjuster is so easy to turn.
I am not sure if I screwed up my adjustment or not since I un-screwed the cylinder after adjustment, and it is so easy to close the cylinder. Not sure if it got engaged. See my link for other pictures .
You may have cracked this case. I´ll test your hypothesis to be sure but it sounds like a winner. I actually thought that as well but disregarded the idea since scuba- tubes with “better” regulators already have that function build in. Good thinking !
Yep. Open the allen screw and you´ll find the slotted adjuster screw behind it. BTW – that plug is reverse threaded so open it by “closing” it.
Put your probe in it and see if is a adjustment screw for fill rate. Screw it in and it mite slow down fill rate?
I’ve opened up my air tube, and I saw only a hex hole on regulator instead of the one shown in oldgoat’s video. Is this what you have?
