Q:

Does this homebuild seem realistic?

Was wanting to build this but need to know if my expectations are realistic.

Thoughts?

i doubt you will be getting 2000 psi with out killing gun , but if you tune the valve right (or not) you should get 800f/s off 1200psi anyway .
looks to me like a great idea for a build . cut the back valve flat and have 0 space between the valve seal and flat piston face ,

Think of the factory valve split in half. Each half will be spread apart and will be put in place by (3) 8-32 screws. I will have to remake them since I want blind holes and need more meat. Will need to have two springs and add spring retainers since the halves will be apart, but essentially the same crosman concept.

I’m curious about this “split valve” you are planning???

Im hoping for the cost of a crosman pistol and the B&M action as well as the metal it shouldnt be too much. I think I can find a tri rail long enough to mount a scope too possibly.

If I am not mistaken, FX makes a bullpup that pumps up or can be filled from a tank, pump or compressor that will meet your needs and will probably end up being cheaper in the long run, despite their very high prices.

Having said that, I for one would like to see your efforts.

Reality is subjective. I for one would be concerned with the number of pumps it takes. I’d rather shoot then spend time pumping. Is kind of cool looking!

Yep, the goal is to have something to carry on long camping kayaking trips. Lots of free time to pump sitting on a river bank. No noise and fast follow up shots. If I kayak camp for a week, I would want to plink but not have to worry about a pump or running out of air/co2. Never did like the slam of a gas ram or springer.

The two main questions are:

How much air volume will I need?
Will the pump linkage geometry be enough for 2000 psi with flat top adjustable piston and valve?

Thanks Joe.
