Q:

Roachcreek and Synopsis discuss..

Interesting advice RC, perhaps you could lead the way and use it yourself? 🙄

Your as much buddhist as an asshole is a pussy.

I made one simple point (one could argue you used an idea started by AF) and you’ve become so defensive and pigheaded I have to wonder if there is some truth to it you refuse to accept. It’s not about being right or wrong, it’s about seeing something (an idea) in this case for what it is.

The people around me appreciate me for my objective insights, they might not like to hear it, but they value it, a hard thing to come by these days apparently. Not like you would know, apparently you only accept what you want to hear.

Oh and still waiting on video proof of your push up claim. Funny how you demand something of others you won’t provide yourself. Interesting world you’ve carved out, what is that saying “do as I say, not as I do”…? Yeah, talk about being a total hypocrite!!!

Could you imagine how much better the Condor would be if the members here brainstormed and had the ability to design it from the ground up?

I think that things are going pretty good as is. Guys like you, tony, doug, marmot, Tagdagger, and many others have taken time and effort to improve them well enough! Now if all these improvements were built into the gun from the start the “cost” would improve over the current out of pocket expense to get these guns “race ready” but the trade off would be like anything else that becomes common place. I’m kind of thankful for things as they are for one day, when the beloved “black rifle” is consumed by the mass populace we will look back on these “sub culture” days in fond recollection! Firing this site up each day to see what you “mad scientists” came up with is more than half the fun to me 😀

Yes, it is plain to see that AF birthed this conception in the talon SS. It is also plain to see that they do “recon” this site for inspiration of ideas. One can objectively say that there is truth to both of your positions. I think Charlie is smart enough to see your point synopsis. I think the spirit of his “copy claim” was more to show how AF does, in fact, keep a “watchful eye” on TAG, and less to receive accolades for innovation.

My Hegelian senses are compelling me to revisit a practical synthesis (that is if you boys keep carrying on) drumroooooooooooooooooolllllll:

Agreed, no dick pics.

A couple pics of their egos might work though. I imagine they both would look a lot like the Hindenburg at the moment of ignition…

If the pictures of the rifle I made did not prove my point, what good would a video of pushups do Syn, but I admit I did miss two days of workouts from a bad back this weekend.

The point was not to say your photos of your mod were not enough, it was to say it’s funny you ask me for proof of something but in another thread you refuse to offer photographic proof.

I’m not angry RC. Why would I be angry if I think i’m right? Someone would be angry if they knew they were wrong but couldn’t or wouldn’t accept it. Sort of like the way you reacted when you took the first step towards making this design discussion a bunch of personal attacks.

If your so desperate for a photo showing the very first person to extend the AF extrusion to cover the end of a barrel, here you go. You keep asking for a Condor but that is irrelevant to what I have been saying about the concept of additional extrusion to create an integral moderator.

Separate the Condor SS from the original concept of extending the frame.

Take a few deep breaths, call on your inner Buddha and keep reading.

You made the the first extra long frame extension (one that cover an 18″ barrel), but the concept of extending the frame extrusion to cover a barrel originated from AF years ago.

The concept being the idea of a permanent addition to the railed extrusion to cover a barrel to create an integral moderator.

That is why I prefaced what I said in the very first response to your post by saying “one could argue”. I never said you ripped off AF, you made an AF frame LONGER than anything AF had made and AF made at the time and you did it first, you however were not the first to extend a frame to cover the end of a barrel.

If AF had NEVER made the Talon SS or the Condor with the longer tube then your idea and the concept of extending the frame to create a permanent moderator over a barrel is 100% original to you and only you.

AF originated the CONCEPT of extending the extrusion to cover the barrel, they made a proof of concept by making the longer Talon SS from the original Talon.

YOU made the first extra long SS length prototype. You took the idea of extending the frame to cover a 12″ barrel pushed it out to cover an 18″ barrel.

That is what people who design things do, by pointing out that the concept was there for you to build on in no way takes away (or was meant to take away) from the excellent work you have done. It is beautiful RC. It is wicked in it’s elegance. Doug did some excellent work there as well, it is something to be proud of. I admired it then and I still admire it…

There is a gray area about it’s 100% originality and I can see why this may upset you when it is brought up. If AF created the concept of covering a barrel with a permanent moderator (an additional length of extrusion matching the original) then it’s not black and white that they took your idea when they covered the end of a 18″ barrel.

Stay with me here, breathe some more, find the buddha.

You were one step ahead on a damn good idea. A marketable idea, a money making idea. Shit dude, i’d be an asshole not to admit this and I apologize for not making this clear earlier. You came out with something they had not thought about yet and you made it. You took a concept they had a long time ago, that they never used after the SS and beat them at their own game. They SAT on this idea for a VERY long time and did nothing. In FAR less time you figured out that more frame was better, it took them years and probably seeing what you did to figure it out. let me re-say that, you did what they had not done for an 18″ barrel, they dragged their feet for close to ten years and you figured it out in an afternoon.

Did they copy you, could be, could they claim they came up with the original idea, sure, but they sat on their idea for a really, really long time. Did they rip you off, well that isn’t so cut and dry, if they saw what you did then yes, they ripped your idea to apply what they applied to the original Talon to the TalonSS/Condor. Could they sit back and spin some bullshit lie about how they originated the concept first, yep, but only to cover their asses if they saw what you did and started drawing up a new frame. In a patent court of law the wording to cover “a barrel” would cover ANY length of barrel, and “frame extension” would cover any length of extension, you couldn’t simply make a AF frame with a longer tube and get out of copying a patented item.

Fact is you made a frame that covered an 18″ barrel first. You used the preexisting concept and took it to it’s next logical conclusion before the people who came up with the idea could do it on an 18″ barrel. No small feat. No small feat indeed. In fact year and years of AF modders never took the concept of extending the frame to the next level.

I believe AF uses this site as a spring board for improvements. If that is truly the case they need to fire their designers. They appear to be very cautious about directly copying things done here (unless they can make it look like it was their idea, as is likely the case here), since this site likely drives sales of their products.

Gaylord may have been covering for AF, it would not surprise me one bit, he owes them in my book. But it is also arguable that they did nothing more than apply one of their ideas they used before on the Condor frame…

Albeit almost ten years later…

And probably after they saw you do it. 😉

I did,

The only post that made it was the last post.

did you check each box you wanted split

Sorry I tried to split RoachCreek and Synopsis discussion into its own thread but the new software did not do it correctly.

I will let Pandemic figure it out…
