Cricket Trigger
So I received my Cricket this week. It reminds me of a fine piece of jewelry… the finish and opperation are top notch. I’ve only tested it to 25 yds but at that range it stacks pellets. The trigger has me perplexed though. What I have now is a single stage trigger with a pull weight of a few mushy ounces. Can this be adjusted to a two stage with a clean break? If so, how?
Thanks!
Steve

1) moved the spring up to the second notch. That stiffened both stages, which helped “feel” what was happening. It wasn’t “stiff”, it just wasn’t so light you couldn’t feel it.
2) I set the length of the first stage to about a 1/4″ length of pull.
3) I set the second stage to hair trigger, THEN…I began to back it off until I could pull the first stage up to “tap” the second stage without it going off. Then I “tapped” it lightly several times in a row. If the gun fired before I wanted it to, I backed it off a tiny bit more. I got it to where I could pull the first stage back, tap the second stage a few times to determine if I was up against the second stage without the gun firing, then with a very light short pull, I could fire the gun. This part of the adjustments takes TIME, PATIENCE, and movements of a FRACTION of an inch/mm…so take your time.
That’s the best I can do, but it should get you to where you personally are comfortable.
Hint: That spring is very important to the trigger’s letoff. You might want to do what I did. I moved it a half inch above the second “C-clip” grove and wrapped a thread around the end of the spring to hold it in place and then put liquid epoxy over it, just a drop, to dry and hold it in place. That spring brings the trigger tension up to where you can begin to really “feel” the changes you make.
This is as much as you are going to find anywhere on fine tune trigger adjustments. Good luck.

Thank you much Uncle Hoot…
how about adding a third groove for the C clip? just a thought…

There is no tutorial you have to fell your needs and according your feeling set the trigger. It is very easy and quick. But be carefully about hair trigger. Do not set the trigger to light.
Written instructions are as follows : Turn the hex key (insert the sound of Ocean here) …
Written procedures? :14: The links Hoot provided are the closest thing you will find to procedures. Record what you do and where you started so you can go back if something isn’t right. Trial and error.
ok here goes.. the pictures posted indicated A, B, and C… but how do we go about making the adjustments? Is there a written procedure somewhere?
My Cricket is still with dreamworks.. not the movie studio.. but… 😳

I set the trigger according Hoot. I move first stage spring to the second and create lighter second stage by allen key CCW
Thanks Hoot. That did it. It’s cherry now 😀 😀
Actually, I believe you simply spread the “U” shaped connector with a small flat head screwdriver and pop it loose.
Further , I found moving the first stage spring to the second, higher, stop did a lot of good as well. Just be very very very careful putting that tiny “C” clip back on. It is tiny, and if it flies off your needle nose pliers, it it almost impossible to find.
Thanks Hoot. I found the second stage stop but still rough through with stage one pull.
It may help to shorten the first stage… To “disconnect C” do I just push the pin out?
Thanks
Steve, go here for your answer. It’s simpler than you think.
Hoot posted a thread on the Trigger Adjustment a few weeks ago.

If you can cut it shallow enough, that would be a much neater process than I used.
All I had to work with was Husqvarna chainsaw and a 14″ Mill Bastard file. So I had to make do with what I had on hand.
I wish I was talented and smart like you guys!!!
