When i get the time i´ll make a proper bedding in of the whole capoodle. Or not me but rather a gunsmith i know will do the honors. I have to wait till i get my Cricket though before i leave my trusty but little rusty (or somewhat rough in its corners) EdGun stock for surgery.
Well mine does it ever so slightly to wear you can hear the creek of the wood when it happens.
But I don’t tend to make a big deal of it being that its not as bad as the rising of the back of the gun
I´ve never heard them rocking side-to-side. Just the usual front/back, up/down movement. Are there some owners experiencing side-to-side movement as well ?? 😯
Yea mine is rocking from front to back not side to side.
Weird… I don´t know what to say now. Still rocking,huh ??.. 😯
I did what you said and I did see a small indent were the set screw is sitting…so I took out the dremel and went to work on the set screw to remove some of the threads…and now the set screw is flush to the trigger housing…I didn’t really feel a difference and kinda still have the rocking problem.
Smear some strip of Tip-Ex or of a kind on there and mount the action and you´ll see. It IS the only contact point between the rear of the action/stock. Otherwise it (the action) would hang on the air above the stock, right ??
Hmm interesting…ill have to go and check that out on my rifle when I get home.
Yep. Almost invisible but there it was..;)
Did you see a dent in the stock to give you the idea the lock screw was touching the stock?
No-not a hole but a shallow recess so it doesn´t touch the stock but lets the trigger housing rest against it. Like i t h i n k it was supposed to be. 😆
So you drilled a hole in your stock were the little Allen screw was?
O.K. Just so you know that tiny screw ,as long it´s left there , is the only contact point between the stock and the rear part of the action. Once you remove it the whole trigger housing will rest on where i suppose it´s meant to be resting – against the stock. Before i got that HST adjuster which allowed me to remove the jam nut/screw i drilled a little recess for it (lock screw/jam nut) where it rested against the wood. Once i did that the “rocking action syndrome” was gone.
I’ve kept mine in there as well. Doesn’t do any harm as long as you remember to loosen it before adjustments………. 😉

I got my HST in the mail on Thursday. I also had to shorten mine as it was bottoming out on my .25 R3. I removed 5 threads. I am surprised that it was made so much longer than the original? I also had about 3 turns on the original.
When I received the Edgun it was shooting at 950 FPS. I ran a string before I replaced the HST and it had creeped up to 980 FPS. I am now back down to 940 FPS and getting 65 regged shots and continuing the breaking before I start playing with the regulator.
The HST is nice once the mod is modded.
