Check your chrony! Lol
Want to increase your velocity without affecting your accuracy? Easy, don’t unfold your chrony all the way! Lol! I was noticing that my regulated cricket had jumped up to 925 fps for a full string today with 18.1 jsb’s. I had been shooting around 905. After thinking that this should not be happening I realized my new tripod was preventing the chrony from opening all the way. Of corse this affects the distance portion of algorithm. A small angle has quite the influence. Consequently just the opposite happens when you shoot at a slope across the sensors, which most of you already know. That being said, fully open crony, parallel shot, my standard cricket averages truly 895 fps with 18.1’s. So if you ever notice faster than normal speeds, just make sure nothing is preventing your fold out chrony from fully deploying!

Yes very accurate and they guarantee them to 1% or better. If you wanted to calibrate it to another chrony etc it is tunable too. I havent had any errors on my .22 or .25 but have some issues with higher velocity un-suppressed .177 cals. If they are fitted with a suppressor no probs at all.
Is lead magnetic? no, it works buy the pellet momentarily breaking a magnetic field around the sensors.
They seem very reasonable but I like them because they are nearly impossible to shoot. 🙂 Are they accurate? Many errors? Lead – magnetic???
At my local range we tested a number of different chronographs with a self-calibrating system a vendor brought in trying to sell us a few years ago (several thousand dollars). Surprisingly, the cheap F1 Shooting Chrony was the only chronograph reporting very near the actual velocity. (I won’t mention which ones were way off but I see them recommended here and on YF frequently)

There is some POI shift on PBs, but consistent and comparable numbers to Chrony, CED and Oehler readings people took during comparisons.
Don’t know about smaller pellets, but the electromagnetic sensors should still work. I may go down to manufacturer and ask them some questions about sensitivity.

That isn´t too bad. I´m surprise the Norwegian price isn´t higher.
BTW – My delayed Cricket .25 and the extra wooden cheek piece is finally going to leave the factory this Friday. I´ll have it the last week in June and i´ll send the cheek piece to you at once i get my sweaty hands on the shipment.

At that price it should work, but the Norwegian importer is not sure about smaller lead bullets that are not magnetic. May not be as accurate as we want………. 🙁
Now that one looks like a chrony to have. If it can be used for powder burners – all the better . How many money ???

Or use something like this…no lighting issues, no tripods, quick setup, can be used in any firing position so you can practice your offhand/whatever whilst running thru a boring chrony session. This thing is great. Magneto Speed.

That’s why it’s recommended to set up some sort of chrony/gun gig. Same distance,angle both up/down and left/right. Use light kit or have in same spot so lighting to sensors is same every time.

Thanks for the update. I like that adjustment. Most folks don’t realize how far off some chronies are and are adjusting their guns to them. 😛 I think we found most chronies were off by at least 20-30 FPS from actual (with 22 LRs) and they were in either direction so they really need to be calibrated. I shoot mainly .22 and .25 anyways.
