552 yard shot and utube video

First, sorry for my amateuristic photo and utube video.

I had difficulty getting a picture through the rangefinder, the can was ranged at 552 and I had set up to get a couple yards beyond 550 yards.

I shot at that can for 10 minutes and 41 seconds before I got a hit, after about 9 minutes I had told my wife Melanie and Jack and Johnny Davis that I would try 5 more shots and set Melanie over the ridge from where I was shooting and the Handycam was setting to shut it off.

I finally hit the can and being as she was out of sight over the ridge we did not know if she had shut off the Handycam too soon, so you can hear us yelling,” did you get that.”

I advise you to run the video, get a beer of soda or coffee, what ever takes up 10 minutes and 41 seconds so you don’t have to watch me miss so much.

Again this was shot with a Haley 36 inch 257 with NOE 101 grain bullets cast from 20-1 and sorted to +or- 1/10th grain and sized to .258. Rifle was tethered at 3500 PSI and shot from a Caldwell Stable table with a Caldwell range bag and Caldwell Harris type bipod. Scope was a Leupold VX111 4.5×14 30 MM Long Range with Holland MOA reticle, drop was around 520 inches and 97 minutes were dialed in for correction, winds were gusty and swirling. Elevtion was 5700 feet and temperature was 85 degrees.
