Q:

Question about experience getting Gun from AF

I cancelled an order with PA for my Condor SS they originally sent the wrong cal .177 I have to give them props, they paid return shipping but I would have to wait until the .22 is back in stock. I got cleared by AF to get the Millitary / LE discount so I planned to order a Condor .22 from them using thier goverment pricing they offered me. I assume I cannot get this through other vendors. I am just wondering now if doing this will take forever to get the condor ss from them. I know from working in the firearms industry sometimes I was able to order straight from manufacture rather than distributor but they seemed to take months to deliver a order.

Oh and one final questions. I am just getting into air rifles. Always been a powder burner. Only experience has been .177 pellet rifles plinking. I want to hunt and bench shoot for accuracy to impress my budiies lol Is the .22 Condor the best choice or should I get the .25

I cancelled my order with Air Force with no apology by them after making me wait 6+ weeks. Ordered the gun from PA and got the gun in 3 days !!!!!!!! A Big Thank You out to the PYRAMYD AIR TEAM !!!

I’ve got both calibers. Here’s my take.

A .25 air rifle can create “penis envy” with the guys. 😯 😆 It’s not a “normal” caliber for air rifles. Almost everyone that is not familiar with air guns thinks .177 and sees the .22 for the more serious shooter. But get a .25 and it adds the “wow” factor. It’s thought of as a buffalo gun air rifle.

Regardless of caliber, they’re going to be impressed with how quiet it is, the low cost of ammo, and the friggin crazy accuracy your gun will produce.

Me? I shoot my .22 more than I do the .25. I think mostly because of the flatter shot string over the same number of shots. I get about 30 on the .22 and about half that on the .25 although I seldom ever have had that much of a target rich environment.

My .22 is just as deadly as my .25 on any small game or pest I’ve hunted. If you’re going after larger game such as coyote I believe a .25 would be more in order.

If you decide to go the .22 route consider getting a Talon valve and trying it. In my experience the .22 with the 18” barrel using a Condor valve is a lot of air is wasted which also makes the gun louder. Now if were to have the 24” barrel it really could use the larger valve to get and keep the pellet speed up (assuming you’ll be shooting 18g or heavier) around 800-900fps.

And as Crazy stated you can do a barrel swap and decide which you like better. The resale on barrels are good so your overall expense will be kept minimal. Either way, you shouldn’t be disappointed.

Keep us posted on your decision and results.

I had the same issue with PA (not a huge fan) with the gun I tried to order from them before I went with the AirForce Condor.

Imho I am however a fan of the .22 even though I own a .25 (cannot get ammo as easily here in Michigan I have to order it) it is a handy gun to have and if you decide to get a .25 later just do a barrel and hammer swap
