duct seal putty for silent trap?
I bought some duct sealant for a pellet trap the other day. When I opened it up, it wasn’t quite what I envisioned. Seemed runny, but maybe it dries to a clay-like consistency?
Is this the right stuff, or close enough?

Just be sure to put a steel plate or some 1″ MDF behind that putty. The gun will blast right through the putty alone.
+1 on that one even with my Benjamin Trail in a .22 flavor it would start to push the back out lol I wouldn’t want to see what a PCP would do

I got the stuff in electrical as predicted. Thanks guys.
A caution…. If you pound through the ductseal make sure the box is stout enough to stop the pellets.
Every now and then repack the putty as you shoot it will crater on you. Found a box of rags to be near silent.

+1 been there and done that mistake, funny after you install it!
Electrical, look for 1lb bars, almost hidden. I had five HD guys look for a stock of 20 and not find it!!!!! Patience and you’ll get he best AG shooting putty!
Electrical dept. Roger that, I’ll do the exchange and go from there….
i work construction and i used the tin guys duck gasket…which is more like play doe…but more sticky..
You can also use plumbers putty in a junction box I used to do that it doesn’t dry out fast

That is the wrong stuff.
Take it back. You need to go the electrical department and look for the duct seal sold in bars
