leak report
… Just wanted to add a leak report thread. My .22 Cricket arrived in a shipment to AOA in May, so it’s of a relatively new batch. After about 500 rounds through it, it suddenly developed an air leak where overnight. It would loose about 100 bar. A dab of spit over the pin sized hole near the fill port revealed the point of the leak, and thanks to the information discovered here, turned out to be a simple repair.
I purged the air tank, unscrewed the pressure gauge and fill assembly, and revealed a hard, white rough spot on the o-ring that sealed the front of the tank. Also worth mentioning… This area was seemingly void of any lubricants. It was dry as a bone actually. A healthy dose of silicone divers grease on everything, and a new seal found locally at Harbor Freight Tools, and the leak has been repaired. It was also nice to finally index my OEM arriving upsideown pressure gauge, lol. That had been bugging me from the get go.
This Cricket is an amazing rifle in every way. I like it even more now that is was so easy to repair. Just thought I would share.

It adds a modicum of personal satisfaction and perhaps a bit of pride to be able to fix a simple leak ourselves… 🙂
I have taken mine apart a dozen times to adjust the reg and it hasn’t developed a leak yet. Only recently have I added any divers grease. and even then just a small dab.
SV, I think all you need to do is fill it, see if it holds air, then shoot it.
If it develops a leak then it will need to be fixed. No need to fix something if it isn;t broke, right? 😉
I’ve been keeping a close eye on mine, but with the temperature swings over the last few days it’s hard to tell what is going on.

I´m concerned about the QC – or the lack thereoff – since there are more and more posts about leaking Crickets. I have yet to see many posts regarding leaking Eddies so my main concern is : Did i do stupid by ordering one of these sieves and do i need to take a brand new gun apart and lube all the o-rings and check things before shooting it ? O.K – i DO take my guns apart and check certain things when i first get them but it shouldn´t be mandatory for me as a customer to act as the last quality controller,right ??

..yea, it’s a bit of a bummer but there is so much good that has accompanied the inconvenience I’m still a very proud owner. Overall, the product has exceeded my expectations and is the best gun I own. I believe that this leak could have been easily avoided with a little lube and or care during assembly. I guess it’s human nature to stop caring after you’ve assembled a few hundred air tubes that day. It happens with everything else man made… Why not a bb gun? 🙄
It is a bit alarming to read these leak reports almost daily…
