Q:

Sightmark or Millett???

4X16-50mm, that’s all I need but I do lack visual acuity so I need the brightest of the two. Both are in my price range -$300

Anyone have experience with either Sightmark or Millett? Both appear to have limited lifetime warranties. I just need clarity at
the higher magnification.

I considered a Nikko-Sterling “Night-eater” series, but it has a one year warranty and I know absolutely nothing about it.

Hoot,

I would not pick either.
If you want a good scope on a budget, my advice is the bushnell legend 5-15×40.
Excellent glass, apparently or so I have read ( no, dont remember where), similar to elite 4200 except for the raincoating… I like it.

I had the millet your asking about. It had decent clarity for what it was…but it was made of lead. That was one heavy sumbitch. Lately I have been considering weight because ounces equals pounds and pounds equals pain.

You Know Hoot, the Bushy legend is a very good scope for the money! I wish I could buy anothe Zeiss for the same kind of money I paid for the one I’m using now. Hell, a Bushy 6500 cost more than I paid!

You ever take a look at a good used scope. I find quite a few on evil bay. 😆

Fugget….I’ll probably just keep using the UTG 3X12-42mm I have on it now.

There is no exception to money when it comes to scopes. You get what you pay for…period.

Oh well…

Sorry Hoot, I didn’t answer because I didn’t want to insult you. (like you give a shit right???) 😆

You were asking for a pick between a Chinese wanna be and a scope marketed as an American product, that is in truth, just another Chinese junker. I would pick neither. If I had to, probably the millet. Buuuut, only because it is made to the specs required by millet. It’s still a china junk scope.

Sorry Hoot. 😳

Hey Hoot,

I have the Sightmark 8.5-25×50 Triple Duty Riflescope and for the money I paid $149 at Overstock.com with coupon, it’s pretty decent. Much better than Leapers, but compared to my Vortex, it’s no contest.

My friends has a Millett and I would say it’s slightly better in clarity and brightness. If you can get the Sightmark cheap, it’s would be a good buy.

Glad to have been of assistance HOoT:!:
Anytime, just hollar real loud so we can hear your cry 😥

BTW I thought a millett was some kind of fish so I didn’t have an answer 😳

Please accept my gracious thanks for the tremendous outpouring of assistance from my fellow forum members on this topic. Your response has exceeded my most parsimonious expectations.

Together we thrive, as would a tribe, or perhaps a herd…
