Did those that repainted sand the existing paint?

It will peel/flake off if you don’t sand first.

Just duracoat over the whole stock? Should give the same colour and its an ‘epoxy’ finish, you won’t chip it.

Hi Mark, I also needed to make repairs cosmetically to my R2.5 stock and I believe it was on this forum that I discovered (Krylon Fusion 2520 Black) it said black but it was a gray. I can not assure you that it was on this Forum that I received this info. However, I bought and used it and found it to be an extremely close match. Take this info a do your research and see what you can come up with. So far after 10 months it’s still holding up very well. Good luck.

Ted used a textured krylon paint…but he removed the video because after some time the paint started chipping from his stock, so to not give any false info that painting the stock with that paint would last…he removed the video.
I tried priming and using textured paint on an older wooden stock with a clear coat after for protection and it started to chip a few weeks later.
